Thanks Robin , this is a very useful lick as there are so many dom 7 chords throughout the repertoire . I discovered this one myself quite recently and of course just rearranging the sequence gives even more variety. It is also useful to learn this same sequence but starting on the b string working downwards -slightly different fingering as g to b interval is of course different from b to e.

great Phil and yes useful also to know it starting on the B string - cheers, Robin

Excellent Robin! I'm going to make my own backing track (chords) to this so I can practice the lead lines over it. Your viewers might laugh at this, but I still use my cassette player (I have tons of blanks cassettes) to facilitate my practice schedule. I like to practice and/or play outside quite a bit (the beach is my favorite), thus --- my cassette player. It comes in very handy. Thanks Robing for posting this! Steve

Great lesson. The only thing missing is the right-hand picking. looks like Robin is doing all downstrokes. I doing D U D D U D D U D D. Always using a downstroke when changing a string. Am I over thinking this? :) I do find that developing my right-hand skills has helped me SO much.

Hi Robin. Really nice lick but I notice that all your picking strokes are downstrokes. In order to play it faster, i.e.. at the real Coquette speed, do you use gypsy picking, hybrid or other? Many thanks Mres165
@GypsyJazzSecrets7 жыл бұрын
Good question - ur right when played slow all down strokes. When quicker I use Gypsy picking except w an upstroke when Starting on the D string - how does it work for u?
