Classic Harley Davidson Tour | The Shovelhead Reunion | Harley Davidson Electra-glide 1980 FLH

This weeks ride is a 1980 Electra-glide FLH Harley Davidson, an iconic motorcycle with the well known and loved Shovelhead motor. We have just finished rebuilding this bike, and our Head Honcho Adam takes her for a spin. After spending a fortune on the rebuild, Adam has a nasty surprise when he finds the overhauled transmission by Jackman Custom Cycle's in Florida, got paid for, well who knows, they just got paid.
As we run the bike around Tenerife, the motor beds in nicely, and we start to see the smile develop on Adams face. This is his personal classic bike, and will be available for select riders in Tenerife. But the teething problems must be ironed out first before we can even think about that.
As we take this ride around the south of Tenerife, not far from Tenerife south airport, we find out what's left to restore on this classic Harley Davidson, soon for rent in Tenerife.

My shovelheads don't leak oil,they mark their spot! And when they don't leak it's because they are out of oil!your right wbout the banana calipers, I put GMA calipers on the 78 1/2 FLH and on my 76 FXE and the ride on the FXE is more comfortable than the Electraglide but the FLH looks cool,I also put a kicker on the scooter,bought that bike in 1988 for $3500 and still have both bikes.Greetings from Tampa Florida 😎

In 1998, I rode my Shovelhead to the 25th anniversary of the York assembly plant. Only thing was, it was my 1968 FLH generator Shovelhead! Nope, my bike was built in Milwaukee! But that's OK, after the tour, I came back to my bike and a 1967 Shovelhead was parked next to me.

Pretty bike! I hope that you've gotten your' issues taken care if now. My '79 Shovelhead doesn't leak oil, bit the old 4-speed gearbox does. If the motor is leaking "modern" gaskets can fix that for you. Regards
