Does anybody else lose the sound around 4 minutes to around the 12-minute mark?

Great video (apart from the sound issue of course). One question though, if the grease groove needs to be wider and deeper why don't the manufacturers do this in the first place? Also, is the shallow groove the main reason why it can be so difficult to force grease into the joints when they are assembled?

Thanks, apologies for the sound issue. Hopefully sorted that going forward. I guess it's the same issue with many mass produced parts, things change as they go along and probably easily sorted in the production process alas it's never been fixed. And yes the lack of grease path is indeed why the grease can sometimes be nigh on impossible to force through the joint.

22:10 Are those Transtec CV joints I spot? I wonder what your thoughts are about those!

They are indeed. Excellent joints. Been using them for years, no issues at all.

@@thomasclassicandmodern 😲The ones I got from MED had a lot of rotational play at the drive-flange splines and the end below the end thread was too big a diameter to the point it would have splayed the C-washer out and then meant it would not have been the correct diameter in the drive-flange, and you'd struugle to get the c-washer off anytime in the future. Did the ones you have not have those issues?

Ooh..this will be topical! wait for all the comments about it being too tight and dangerous etc!
@thomasclassicandmodern3 ай бұрын
I'd like to hope not but we shall see.

Yes definitely too tight. 😮
@alexouthwaite37403 ай бұрын
@@thomasclassicandmodern by the way, I don’t consider them to tight, i set them the same as they settle in quickly.
