Croatia , what a beautiful place. Croatians are nuts about football, music ,girls and cars. For a British fella it's a home from home.

Is the brown floor coating a rubber prc from aircraft production, if so that's top drawer protection.

This is simply great! It would be fun to listen to your ideas on what you would do differently the next time! ....speaking of next time. When are you starting on the next Mini?
@slightlytuned Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! I'm pretty satisfied with overall build, main thing I would change from the start is carburetor and fuel pump, those two did cost me a lot of time... and I would check all new parts before placing them on, like clutch bell which was completely new and factory stamped wrong causing big troubles. So I always check every new part after that, lesson learned 🙂. Everything else is good, I'm satisfied with paint, interior, gauges... I've actually bought a second Mini but got rid of it to make space for Porsche. I'm on the Porsche and my dad is on the Land Rover, after we finish those two I can start to search for a next project, I haven't got clue what it will be but nothing even to consider before finishing current projects 🙂

Hi, great build, which gauges are this?
@slightlytuned10 ай бұрын
Thank you! Gauges are MGS series Marine gauges from igauge manufacturer from Taiwan. Tacho and speedometer are modified, basically the small 52mm gauges are built inside bigger housing and needles were extended.

How long did all this take
@slightlytuned7 ай бұрын
From buying the Mini to making it road ready it took 3 years and 5 months....but I didn't work on on it daily sometimes a couple of months passed without any work but then again I worked a few weeks whole days just on it.... it's hard to ballpark the total work hours, anything I say at the moment would be a total guess, but a lot of hours went into that small car 🙂

Interested in knowing how you sprayed the front end away from the car . The front end is a structural part and is welded on .?
@slightlytuned4 ай бұрын
Originally it is attached/welded and it holds front subrfame on 2 bolts. So it's not structurally important for the shell itself only for the front subrfame.... Instead of the front end there are two metal bars bolted. Bars are visible on 14:04 and 14:15 on video, they connect upper body part with bottom front subframe. Front part is mounted back on 8 bolts and when removed it's much easier to work on engine and the whole front part.
@ajwalou-nack23434 ай бұрын
@@slightlytuned yes I see . You have a steel front end and during the 70 s 80s they made a fibre glass front end for the mini . Fittings this front end meant your mini wouldn't pass an MOT in the United Kingdom as it meant that the structural part of the car was changed and the car would have to be inspected by the department of transport at a cost of about £400 . Yes I know about the subframe support used at the front as that's the only way you could have done that . What I'm really asking is why would you do it as the body is strong enough to cope as it is . I don't think you're doing the car any justice. I love your car but that would put me off. It just seems like alot of work for absolutely no gain.
@slightlytuned4 ай бұрын
@@ajwalou-nack2343 the one purpose of the mod was to gain the quick access to the whole front part of the car, engine, subframe.... The Mini was intended for my personal use and I'm using it frequently and I'm not gentle at all with it.....so the only gain for me is the quick access, not weight savings or anything else

how many times ?
@slightlytuned3 ай бұрын
From start to finish it was about 3 and half years but I didn't work on it every day. I guess all the work could be done in one year if one person is working on it

Kindly advise regarding total cost 🙏
@slightlytuned4 ай бұрын
Total cost with a car included, all the material... roughly about 20k. It's was pretty high but basically everything was new, I could have spent less but I guess when you start ordering new stuff for a project car it's very addictive and after some point there is no common sense, you're just ordering stuff even though the original parts could be used.... well that was in my case 😅
@dimitriskirlidis26204 ай бұрын
@@slightlytuned totally agree my friend that actually i am thinking to buy a mini close to 20k or cheaper around 6k in order to fix it??? Spi
