loving this build...along with project sprout....how you guys find the time and enthusiasm is beyond me doin a b18c4 in a racing green shell which ive had for 4 years and not touched it in 2 years lol maybe after the xmas period i might get round to getting back on it

Thanks bud 👍. It can take a bit of a push to get out there and work on it at times especially in the cold winter time, I find if I just get my garage togs on and just go out there and do a bit of tidying up it motivates me to get on with something on the car. That sound like a cool thing your building. Cheers 👍👍

Some good progress, did this repair recently . Top tip leaving the two tabs in place to support and line up.
@upbuild43975 жыл бұрын
Hi! It’s quite a tricky repair with the magnum panel but it really helped leaving the tabs on. Thank you 👍 👍

The boot floor repair panel seems to be a given on every restoration or project mini, I found the same thing with the jaguars if there ia any metal overlap 2 or 3 layers there is corrosion between them, Cheers Dave

Yeah this boot floor was a bit of a mess as you could see, looking forward to getting all of the shell solid. Cheers👍

Loving your enthusiasm and pushing on the build. Hope you can keep up the pace for future updates. Would you say kurerust goes a long way. Asked Keith from project sprout and his view was it dose go along way.

Hi! We’re trying to do at least one day a week on the build, so hopefully we can keep up a good regular schedule of updates on it. I can highly recommend Kurust, we bought a new bottle of it (200ml) and it’s still well over half full. We’ve used the kurust on all of the surface we’ve repaired so far, so I can definitely say it goes a long way. Thanks 👍

@@upbuild4397 cheers for that. I had seen an offer on eBay 3 for 20 quid but if 1 tub goes a long way I will just go to Halfords and buy 1 tub for 10 quid.

Not a problem. I’m not sure where you’re located but amazon prime (next day definitely) have a 250ml bottle for £8.49.

@@upbuild4397 evening. Sorry to bother you but you buy your panels form m machine in Darlington. Would you know the price of the outer sills. I recently bought 9inch outer sills (magnum). Sine I've realised I only required the 4inch sills. Hope the pressings are better than magnum. Thanks for any advice Anthony
@upbuild43975 жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony Not a problem, the outer original sill is £22.80 inc vat in the m-machine catalogue. Here’s a link to there catalogue preview.m-machine.co.uk/CATALOGUES/mini%20catalogue.pdf Doreen is Lady to speed to there, she’s extremely helpful and knowledgeable. You can’t go wrong with the m-machine panel 👍👍

Hi. Apologies for the delayed reply. The stuff I’m using is Kurust by Hammerite.

Will the mechanics become original or do you want to convert to electric?
@upbuild43975 жыл бұрын
Hi! At the moment we plan to keep it original but we have talked about doing something more modern. Not sure we have the skills to go electric but maybe some kind of 3 cylinder motor, something like the ford eco boost possibly. Cheers👍

Can I ask a question, why not get a MK 1 mini.

Hi! There’s fun or challenge in just buying a Mk1 😉👍
