Absolutely lovely, first rate craftmanship and lovely to see your dad involved too. But when those panels started to be cut off, I couldn't help thinking you might as well have started ground up fresh with just new panels. Some how "Triggers broom" in only fools & horses came to mind. Joking aside, from an ex-panel beater, brilliant workmanship and I look forward to the next chapter. Thank you for sharing

Hi I am restoring a 1974 FORD CORTINA MK.3 (an Ex Ford Promotional Car) so unique & a very rare model version, so I "LOVE the work you are putting into this little Mini, I adore my Fords but admire all other classic cars, and appreciate the dedication other classic car owners put in to their cars, KZbin had your video from (June 27) = Time-laps, on the main home page, so I watched it. and then this one, and enjoyed "Both" so gave them a "like" and have (SUBSCRIBED), the work your putting in to this you deserve the support, If your interested or get the time to watch my channel, the rust my car had will surprise you, (car had sat unused 12 years on damp ground outside), but after a huge amount of work the shell is now solid and at the paint stage, after 40 plus new panels, and super high quality anti rust prep on all internal areas, I will look forward to seeing your project continue, all the best from Keith (Cortinaman63)

Good to see the mini back but i watch all your videos, It‘s very hard to keep viewers happy when they have come to watch just the mini build, I have found that in the past with my Jaguar & Mini videos you just can‘t please everyone, Nice job on the seal plate repair as you need the double thickness for the seal to grip on, The videos have captured a lot of viewers as we would all like a reasonable priced Mk1 mini, Cheers Dave

Thanks, enjoyed the clip. Just one suggestion, we see you using the sprays and chemicals on the build - etch primer, paint, etc. But what are they and what brand? It would be good if you could make a short clip and showed us all of these sprays and chemicals and why you prefer them etc. Also, another clip on the tools and equipment you are using on the build. These information will come handy for others wanting to carry out such a build. Thank you.

@multa7654 жыл бұрын
These gentlemen are from the North East of England and their accent is very common over a wide area. When I say wide area I do not mean by Canadian standards. If that was the case, then most of Holland and Ireland would also speak English like this. There is a wonderful array of accents in the UK and I'm sorry if you're occasionally struggling with this one, you're lucky they're not from Glasgow or Sheffield, though. My great uncle Joe was from Sheffield and my mum and only understood about a third of what he said. Look up broad Yorkshire.

My first 'decent' car was an 850, which I bought in 1970. It was only 5 years old and the doors were already rusting - and this was in Australia. I had no idea it was a classic.....

Are you planning to keep the original handbrake cables and quadrants? I recommend changing them for Bowden cables, as in the Morris Minor of the same vintage. They should fit fine, and are much more reliable.

Excellent job,can I ask what type or types of welder is needed to do these repairs.
@upbuild43974 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you very much 👍👍. Not a problem, we use a Mig welder, this is the best all purpose welder, ideal for working on car body work etc. Using it on gas makes so much difference, the gas Is an argon and co2 mix. You can buy small Mig welders and hobby gas bottles for quite cheep. The welder we’re using is a Sealey Supermig 180, I’d highly recommend it. Hope this helps, any questions just feel free to ask away 👍

Do you guys have a shell in decent shape to sell or know some one that have one?? In 1980 I bought my first car, a gold 1971 Mini Cooper, have lots of fun with it, but I moved to the States I have to sell it, big regret. I am 59 now, own a 2006 Mini Cooper S Supercharged (not quite the same as the original thought) but it's the closest to a Mini that I can have for now...
