At one time Mirrolure made a bait called "Gulfcoast Special" which was a modified 5M with a rear prop only and two hooks, but the front hook was the one left off. The lure was tail weighted and the last inch of the lure was painted a contrasting color. I had one that was white with a chartreuse tail and another that was gold with a red tail.

See my favorite lure ive been calling the 5M but i guess its not. It only came with one prop on the back and only has 2 sets of trebs. When I Google it it doesnt pop up ever!! Any ideas?? Its made by mirrolure and i buy them at Wal-Mart. Guess i gotta go there and find out.

@@ADVENTURESOFBZ Thats the bladed Mirrodine style twitch bait. I picked a few of these up at walmart for super cheap, like $3 dollars each. I havent tried them but looking forward to. 7m also looks alot like the 5m. I think its the same but without the blades, if floats, but dives down right under the surface.

Nice Capt. Question. And I sent this to Mirrolure and got no response. The hooks on some of their lures are the black and some a Saltwater silver. My black hooks are rusting ever after one use. and the Split rings. I can change all those out. However the eye ring in the nose of some lures are rusting to. What to do ??? Make sure to take a tooth brush and clean off everything ? Seems these hooks etc. should not be rusting so quick. Take it easy on me guys LOL I'm a Noobie Salt guy. Any info is very appreciated. They are great baits.

Lip rippin strike it Pure it’s a good question. I generally soak my plugs in a small bucket with fresh water a two drops of dish soap after each fishing trip. Then dry them off with shop towels... it does the trick!

I went out and bought a mirrolure then realized it floated. My modification was to add a few split shot weights to my line, lol.
