Grate show, question on a rod bait caster top four guides tip back ben in the rod line goes under the rod between the guides? I think the braid well cut the rod. What can I do re wrap the guides ? thank you
@flatsclasscharters10 күн бұрын
On some rods where I see this it’s because the guide train were spaced too far apart… you will likely have to actually add another guide and re-do the spacing of all guides!

Great stuff CA what about the approach to fishing larger and very deep holes say more than 10 to 12 ft deep, this time of year
@flatsclasscharters13 күн бұрын
A single deeper hole which is not considered a pothole would have a more unique approach. But that being said the method of working lure with the current and making an effort to have a landing area for your lure away from the actual target zone should still apply.

Great info cap. Would u fish the same way if u don't have grass flats. Around these parts all we have is huge huge mud flats with ranging 3 - 6 ft depths?
@flatsclasscharters13 күн бұрын
You could treat mud flats and depressions in them or shell bars within those flats similar to this grass flats lesson video. Thank you for watching and contributing to our channel

CA, can you recommend any good books on speckled trout behaviors, migration, etc... fishing in Carolinas if there's any regionality to it.

What is your preferred bait to work potholes this time of year? I wade fish the Tampa Bay and last time I went was throwing the Zman ned shrimp on 1/10th Nedlockz in 2ft of water. Could see the fish but struggled to get them to hit.
@flatsclassyoutube55028 күн бұрын
That’s actually a good pick the Salty Ned Shrimpz but I usually employ either that one or Finesse TRD on 10-15lb fluorocarbon leader (4’-5’ length)… also a dab of shrimp scent Pro-Cure won’t hurt. And move it slow with long pauses!
@Tristan1990.6 күн бұрын
@@flatsclassyoutube5502 Excellent, Thanks CA! I have some of the finesse TRD's too! Appreciate the response as always!

This is more of a winter technique or when the barometer pressure is low during summer, spring , autumn

This is how we fish for saltwater yellow fin bream here in Australia we leave the soft plastic in the pot hole for up to 2 minutes without twitching the soft plastic
@mikemaynard204414 күн бұрын
I have heard the larger trout will own a smaller pothole...has that been your experience?
