That neck pickup sounds really clear and articulate.. Im looking for a neck pup to replace my muddy gibson 57 classic .. Are you happy with those pups mate?
@mattrobinson3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they are the best pickups I’ve had. Not sure about how they compare to the 57s though. I’ve always thought the 57s were on the bright side

Matt, do you have the Alnico II set up for coil splitting? Or would you see any reason to do it. I'm ordering a Tonerider set of for a Harley SC-550 and just wonder if I should have it wired to at least have a parallel option (similar to coil splitting).
@mattrobinson7 жыл бұрын
J Lawrence hi, no these are standard wiring. I decided not to bother with coil splitting anymore as I had it done on my last guitar and wasn't a big fan of it. I prefer to just use strats n teles for single coil tones

Would you suggest alnico 2 than rocksongs? :) by the way superb playing there mate.
@mattrobinson4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, yeah personally I prefer the alnico 2’s. They sound more classic and are more versatile. The rock songs are more pushed and not as natural sounding to me

Wow man, I didn't notice it was a harley benton at first sight. Sounded very good so I started to read the description and realised its a "budget" guitar from thomann. Proves you don't need high end gear. I thought it was a Gibson les paul studio first :) Nice! Would you recommend the pickups? I don't want to spend like 200 bucks on slash alnico 2 if they sound this good.
@mattrobinson8 жыл бұрын
Cheers man, yeah its actually my fav guitar and only cost me less than 100 new! Putting the toneriders in has transformed it into an absolute tone machine. I cant recommend the pickups enough. Never tried the slash set but they are same magnets and pretty much the same spec so I would go for the Tonerider's as they are way cheaper : )

I see you changed the setup to a 2 in the bridge and 4 in the neck. Do you prefer that to just a set of 2’s?
@mattrobinson5 жыл бұрын
Joshua Benoit after trying both ways, I actually just prefer a set of 2’s
