I just wanted to say, you can solo with backstab. You simply gouge the target when ur energy is around 40-80%, then you walk behind the target while stunned, followed by backstab near the end of the gouge timer. It seems to be almost as fast as swords/sinister, however requires a lot more tasks and skill to pull off. It’s a little redundant at time, however great practice and helps you learn to play with your energy pool and see what options you have and calculating how much energy you need to gouge backstabs. You don’t want to gouge, and not have enough energy to backstab. It that’s the basic formula, gouge backstab. Used a lot in PVP, and using cc between cooldown. Ez, no need to go swords; but makes the grinding easier for sure for making it simple.

100% agree. You explained my exact rotation and play style while leveing. You hardly take damage or need to heal / eat. Add in ghostly strike off of ambush opener, pool energy, gouge into backstab.

This is backwards. Combat/swords is better if you have someone else that can reliably take aggro. Sub/daggers is better if you're solo leveling. Ambush into ghostly strike means you start every fight with +15% dodge and with the enemy at half health from ambush damage. Improved sap lets you start fights you normally wouldn't be able to. Preparation is your faceroll button - probably the storngest cooldown rogues have. And master of deception & camoflage seem weak until you have them then you realize you wouldn't ever want to play rogue without them. They're huge quality of life talents. Combat/swords doesn't have any of this control and takes way more damage in fights, increasing time between fights after recovery.

Prep is super useful to have mostly in pvp but being able to refresh a vanish to save a from full whipe is also really nice, also with hemo spec you want an off hand dagger since you won’t be getting the procs from duel sword speculation, so you want the faster applies with the dagger.

The weapon is saying it's going to be soulbound to you cuz it's not a soulbound weapon baseline. That way you can't trade it with poison "enchant" to another player. So it's soulbound for the duration of your poison.

No to Sprint/evasion Talents. 5/5 sword specialization instead. Gives you an extra attack, could be eviscerate even, so you hit Evisceratex2 or Ripostex2 for just 10 Energy. Sword spec is right I feel like other than that. but definitely want the Sword Specialization for the 5% chance for double hit . I have no clue about dagger rogue, learning that now.

@@DalaranGaming 1 talent netting you a reset on vanish/evis/blind ext is quiet possibly one the best value talents when going Sub, saying your going pure dmg and going sub are counter points, just take it and id take dirty deeds but that ones more personal

And here we are yet again… four years later! Classic WoW is as busy as ever (at least on my server cluster). I love it. And fortunately for me, I enjoy leveling as much as I enjoy end game. I play mostly rogues, and each of them is a different race/class/spec.
