Funniest moments for me are Homer in the tree house asking himself to think of a solution but all his brain can come up with is "eat the pudding", and scene in comic book store where comic book guy warns him about stealing his idea and he says "mental note, steal his idea". Classic Simpsons was so funny.

There's some kind of crooked comedy genius in having Homer's own brain admiringly say 'I would never have thought of that'...to itself. It's the kind of free-jazz, nonsense-joke that only a truly talented comedy writer team would come up with.
