Good video. Good kit. Love my military gear. It will last for ever if taken care of. God bless. From Glenn CATT in Massachusetts.

Great video brother I got most of my army gear from 1981 the only suggestion I would have to your set up I would add at least some sort of a first aid kit
@adventuresincampingwithcar86223 жыл бұрын
I 100% agree. I have since added a trauma kit. I tend to spend a lot of time in the woods by myself. I have scared my wife with stories of near missed in the woods. So I've assembled a kit including blood stop and tourniquets and a GMRS radio. I'm also a HAM, so I have alternate comm meathods.

Thanks you. It may have been mentioned once or twice. But the nickname stuck with me.

There is a good reason that the military used effectively the same system (with some modification) from 1956 until about 2006. It is cheap, scalable, modular, and can be changed at a moment's notice. It can carry everything you need for up to 3 days and isn't too heavy. Even loaded down with about 20lbs, my LBV feels like I'm just wearing a vest with bearly any weight. LBE can kinda start digging into your shoulders, but either swap the Y harness for the old H harness or grab an LBV. If you find you don't like the butt pack, grab a SAW ammo pouch or 2qt canteen pouch and pop it back there. Still holds plenty, but doesn't get in the way as much. LBE/MLBE/ALICE are great systems that work extremely well together. Only reason to ditch it is for the PALS system of MOLLE, if you actually assemble it correctly. PALS isn't better, but it can be lighter. I actually prefer ALICE/LBV88 myself, and I used all 3 while in the Army.

That's why I prefer the older gear. Thanks for your input.

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. I prefer to use military surplus or thrift store gear. The newest and the fanciest doesn't impress me.

The special word for the web gear you were probably trying to remember is LC-2 Gear ( or Deuce gear ). You really don't want a bunch of crazy crap hanging on your ruck, butt pack, whatever, like that set of fork and spoon, Ranger beads, etc....... unless it's MOLLEd ( or in your case, ALICE clipped ) on good and secure because if it can catch on something, it will. I'm a believer in the butt pack as well and wear a newer, MOLLE type one on my pistol belt at the small of my back. I use the same kind of pistol belts you do, military surplus, the green kind with the plastic ITW Nexus buckle

@@adventuresincampingwithcar8622 No problem, brother. I also have been a guns and gear guy most of my life ( who actually trains with my weapons and gear, tho at 46 it's harder than at 26 ) like yourself. I enjoy you videos, so I like and subscribe. Thanks for the good content

Lol, I understand what you mean about it being more difficult to train then when you were younger. I feel your pain. I'm 58, there are days I really feel it.

It's made by JobSmart. The only number I found is on a label inside. #561805 that's all it says. It seems pretty well made. It's even is made of aluminum. It uses 6 AA batteries.

what’re the exact names for the waist bag & that clear plastic water canteen ? ? where did you get them from anyway ? ?
@adventuresincampingwithcar86224 жыл бұрын
The best I can remember, is that the bag is called a US Army butt pack. They have a Rothco version on Amazon. The canteens were found on Amazon as well. Nalgene Oasis water bottle.

And your grandchildren will be using your LC2 (web gear) too...! Nothing wrong with American military surplus... it's built to last (even if it is the UGLY ACU digital camo). Besides, it was Made in America !

Amen to that. I love my military surplus.

Nothing like military surplus cheap !!
@adventuresincampingwithcar86224 жыл бұрын
Yup, the latest isn't necessarily the greatest, when it comes to gear, but it is the most expensive. Military gear was designed and built to last, and is a whole lot less expensive. That's why I love it. I appreciate your comment. If you have any suggestions, let me know. I may do a video on it and I will definitely give you a shout out for the idea. We're all in this together.

@adventuresincampingwithcar86222 жыл бұрын
Mine is the Vietnam era gear. I prefer the OD stuff and natural fiber over synthetics. Synthetics just melt to you if they catch on fire. I'm a professional blacksmith. I know a guy who had a bad interaction with a synthetic shirt and fire. As far as videos go. I'm hoping to get back on those. I've had to work on my campsite. And I also needed to make a video for work instructionals on using 18th century keys in 18th century locks. We've had a lot of new people who don't know how to use them, and break both, then I have to fix them.
