They sure did! He was working on building the fire to build up steam a couple hours before the plowing even started.

Imagine spending 10 to 12 hours a day on that big John Deere with the screaming 2 cycle Detroit diesel !!! That alone would wear you out !!!

I saw a video of a mint condition tractor like the one at 0:50 or the one at 1:46 and it was cut up and taken apart and all the liquids were drained and sold it for scrap (weight) and I can't find the video any more! 😢

The progression from then until now? The mighty beasts they "farm" with today. Bigger and bigger? Four wheel drives. Today's machines are absolutely MASSIVE!!
