you can take the chain out of that track and forego a lot of elbow grease. also, pay attention to those plastic pieces on the window bracket. if they are worn, they can cause the window to move and wear on the track

Is it snowing also
@oscarblom48855 жыл бұрын
Not much snow so far. About four inches this year. Early yet. Last year we had so much snow we could not find room to pile it. Also a couple of nights it dropped down to 50 below zero. My battery in my car was a year old. Fortunately I had used a vacation day and exchanged the battery with a new one. O’REILLY ‘s was great 👍. So I was happy camper. Be safe and well.

Nice Tips on this maintenance fix. I redid mine last year with brake cleaner and multi purpose spray oil. They work great still and smooth too. Thanks for sharing and have a great week and more my friend. BigW:-)

Don't apologize for such a simple swear word that's not aimed at anyone, just shows you're a real person like the rest of us. I will admit though, I had to pause the video because you had me laughing. Hehehe! Don't forget to use some real good grease in the track, the WD-40 will dry out pretty quickly, but it certainly does a good job of cleaning it out and getting it freed up!

Hello! My regulator is a bit rusty at some areas so at the metallic cable some springs broke and when i turn the crank it is turning free without moving the window. This happens after cleaning and lubing the regulator. Do you think that it must be replaced?
@Volkswagenplanet Жыл бұрын
Yes. They bind from years of rust and dirt over the years. Even when you get the new one.but some WD-40 type product. It's a item we forget to maintain. Word of advice when installing the new one. Take pictures before and during the tare down. I fought with mine for 20 hrs. Then I realized I had the door brace installed wrong. It's a simple strait toward job though. Hope the info helps. If you need any additional info feel free to reach out. I try and answer as fast as possible. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel. I hope to be back in the garage soon this year. Taking care of a lot of family issues. Time is not been on my side. Take care, stay safe my friend.

Remember that WD-40 and PB blaster, are not very good lubricants. They’re very light lubricants. And the solvent they are in evaporates quickly. If you get yourself an oil can, or just pour some motor oil in that. It’s a much Better lubricant. If you want to spend money get yourself some lithium lubricant , that’s pretty good. Or you can even grease it. The cable has or had a little bit of felt twisted up in it. And that holds the lubricant. And yes factory parts, most of the time are better than absolutely new aftermarket parts. There are some exceptions you know, suspension components and such. But door window regulators, usually if they’re not broken, you can rehab them easy. Remember everything on the driver side door is going to be screwed up. Because it’s the one that gets the most use. The passenger side door everything will be perfect. Ha ha ha ha. This is a two edged sword here, if you grease your regulator, or it has oil on it it will attract dirt. So, it’s necessary to have the proper rubber, good rubber, not broken.... on your door, to keep all that dirt out. 👍👍👍 Keep on keeping on!
