Great video. Straight up to the point without the “is all about me” long talk to get to the point that most videos guys do. Again, easy to understand, clean voice Andy very straight forward. Thank you.

Thank you thank you thank you. I have a 1999 vw T2c imported from Mexico. Busted up my knuckles trying to shift. I knew it was just the cable not Engaging but people were saying (your clutch is probably dead, or good luck with that” Well I guess I had some good luck! Easy fix. Again, thank you.

it seems when i adjust the flynut after setting the tube, it straightens out the tube again! ill keep trying, its a shortened buggy with the cable shortening 'kit' on it as well...luckily, being a buggy, access is better than most! im ready to put a METAL tube there to maintain the bend, but i know thats not how it all works....good vid, by the way, concise, no silly music or shaky cameras. thanks all.

68 bug Bowden tube has 1-1/4” bend has 5/8” play at clutch pedal all new clutch parts. Clutch Chatters on initial take off. But shifts great. If I loosen then it doesn’t want to go into gears smooth

I know this is one of your older videos but, the bowden was never seated back into the tunnel tube and would cause premature cable failure, you can see that it is this way before and after the bowden reposition , also without someone applying tension on the clutch cable when you pull up the pedal 9/10 times the cable will come off the hook, sloppy I know you guys are better than that.

Chris. Thanks for the video. I'm sure that is what my problem is. At 2:41 it shows where the tube is connected to the body. To me is looks bent like it isn't supposed to be at that angle. Can you look and verify that the left end is supposed to look like that. Many thanks.

Great video Chris! I used your tips on your video on sanding the fuel pump stand and that fixed my vapor lock problems! I have chatter on first gear but only AFTER driving a while. Probably has to do with engine temperature in my case. In this video, do you mean the chatter is there from the startup? If not, do you know if the issue in my case still could be the wire or could it be the transmission itself that needs fixing/changing? Thanks!

Hi Chris, My question is concerning the wingnut adjustment. I had way too much free play and adjusted to the proper amount... is it to be expected that in doing this my clutch as I let it out now engages the transmission at a different point than before? Thanks again for all the videos!

My clutch for after driving in rush hour or after about 20 mins of driving when warmed up seems to start grinding, then I end up having to keep adjusting my cable, not sure if the Bowden tube is the problem or if it's my guide tube in the tunnel, I've reinforced my guide tube because my welds broke for the first time in 50 years

Renew the transmission oil. It goes off and gets burnt out, you can get a burnt smell when you drain that oil, I change mine every 3 years approx. as it shifts smoother with clean, fresh oil, costs about 20 bucks.ep 80)90w oil.

Chris Vallone I actually have the same issue. It’s real chattery and it will not release with ease. I’am in the process of rebuilding it cable and Boden tube. The question I have is what do you mean by bend on the Boden. My old was breaking right at the crimp where the cable first goes through it. Could the possibly be the cause.

My clutch engages too early. Can I just turn the wing nut once or twice to fix it? Or are the spacers absolutely necessary?

+Bdubbleyou You only use the spacers if you have no bend in the bowden tube or you have chatter when coming off the clutch. And yes tighten to fix early engaging.

Probably the cable end came off the hook at the pedal assembly, cable probably was damaged and wore through the wire strands unravel then break.

Hi Chris - 2 comments My car judders with new clutch fitted - is this the cure - we did use an alignment tool so maybe this is the reason although it seems hard to understand why this makes a difference? Also just to say did you fit a seal at the end of Bowden tube - WolfWest part 111721365 - seems many forget to fit this seal!? All the best Chris
