Excellent tutorial. We ended up buying the sunroof DVD from Chris and finished our '61 Herbie restoration with grey mohair. It turned out so nice that we are now going to redo our '64 Herbie replica with the multi-piece headliner (originally done with a one piece headliner back in 2005). From now on, all of our restorations will be multipiece. Chris, you indicate that the multipiece headliners ran until 1963. Our '64 hardtop sedan had the original factory headliner in perforated vinyl, but it was a multi-piece and has the same multi-piece grippers on it.

yes the 64 headliners can get a multi-piece and it looks great. You can do multipiece all the way up to the end with bugs, you just need a shop like sewfine to make it for you so it has the right measurements.
