Barber's Adago for Strings... I see Leonard Bernstein in my mind so completely absorbed he has left the earth. This brings tears to my eyes. My mother recounted to me that it brought tears to my father's eyes also.

Barber's Adagio for Strings is not a clip-along piece. Its slow and contemplative movement that builds to a crescendo and then eases you back down. I liken it to watching a sunrise on a crisp, clear morning, anticipating the moment the sun pops up over the horizon and you close your eyes and enjoy the warmth on your face, as you sip your favorite hot beverage. Relaxing.
