@MyChocolateMoments would you mind doing a comparison of Logic of English Essentials and CC Essentials? We are on our first year of CC Foundations and my oldest will be old enough for Essentials next year. We have been doing LOE and the thought of switching makes me sad. We really enjoy LOE!

Granted I’ve only done LOE essentials up through lesson 15ish (so halfway through the program) and only level A, so what I share may be different had we done the whole program but here are some similarities and differences. Differences: - LOE has a big emphasis on spelling, CC does not (there is a list of spelling words in the Essentials guide but it’s not used in class, not built in to any of the curriculum, just a list you can use at home if you want) - CC does diagramming; there is no diagramming in LOE (at least up the point we got to) - CC goes much deeper into the roles of nouns, verbs, pronouns, etc. than LOE does (at least up to where we got in LOE) - LOE does a lot with morphemes, prefixes, suffixes, etc. (esp. in levels B and C) that CC does not cover - CC has a writing program (IEW), LOE does not Similarities - both programs teach the various parts of grammar and have you label each word in a sentences with what it is - both programs use similar definitions for parts of grammar Hope that helps!
