I must confess, I wasn't as productive on my vacation as you were. I missed all the october episodes. But I really enjoyed watching three episodes in a row. I’ve got a lot of inspiration in my personal life, in learning English and in combing my hair with a honey comb. Thanks, Luke

Hello! My name is Natalya. I survived up to the very end. In Russian we are used to call mobile phones comb phones. Although it sounds a bit oldfashioned now. I am 78 years old and my goal is understanding English movies without subtitles. I hate grammar because my way of studying English is more like that of a parrot. Thank you, Luke! I am looking forward to your lessons!

Hi Luke, I love jokes when I understand them. Some are so funny! Thanks for the explanations (dissecting the frog is sometimes useful) particularly for the honey comb. Exercises are a real complement to the podcast! I enjoyed them. Thank you so much for the lists of all your jokes podcasts 😊 I'll listen to them from tomorrow morning driving to my job.

You mean it’s difficult to read and listen at the same time? How is it when you just read without listening. If you can read ok, and you can listen ok, don’t worry - you don’t really need to listen and read at the same time. Continue just listening, but also practise reading separately too.

I have been living in the UK for a while . I studied English for a long time in my own country before coming here. After I came here I was very disappointed because I found it very difficult to understand people. I understand everything you say but I still find it difficult to understand most of the people here. I can say that in the UK, at least in my area, very few people speak as clearly as you do and this is a big problem for us.

It's quite interesting, but a new study of Franklin’s experiment suggests that he actually invented the whole story. According to Doctor Tom Tucker, an American university professor, who first began to feel suspicious about the story while he was working for the US space agency NASA. He examined the original documents and noticed that Franklin never said that he actually carried out the experiment. Dr Tucker realised he was right when he tried to carry out Franklin’s experiment himself - using an identical kite. He tried it several times - but the kite couldn’t fly. According to Dr Tucker, even if the kite had flown, it couldn’t have gone high enough to get electricity from the storm clouds. The resource: English Textbook Solutions Intermediate published by Oxford University Press.
