He is one of the very few people who will play Lead, Rhythm and Bass parts of a song all at once. You guys noticed his thump pick, thats playing the Bass then his other fingers are playing the Lead and Rhythm parts all at the same time. He was young and self taught as a small child so he never realised that multiple people were playing each part. So he taught himself to play everything he heard. So became the legend of the man that became the One Man Band. He is revered by all the guitarists in the world as the very best on Acoustic Guitar. He Does play the Electric as well, but I think he prefers this. He had a brother who was arguably even better than he was on the Electric Guitar. But his brother died far too young 😢 *Elton John - Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting* is the song he switched to mid song then switched back again.

The name you are looking for on the guitar is "Maton". Maton is, I believe, the oldest brand of guitars in Australia still in production. Tommy prefers his home brand. Oh and that classic rock song you were looking for is Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting". Tommy used to listen to records as a kid and not realise that there were 2 guitars, and so he practised until he could approximate the sound of the bass with the melody. Also the family had a band and he played drums - so the percussion on the body of the guitar stems from that.

If spoken slow enough I can usually follow Dutch and German, but quick conversations are straight over my head. lol I am Australian as is Tommy. You might want to look at a video of Tommy and his brother Phil [RIP] on stage together - the guitar work is phenomenal.

The Journey (guitar only) And I second Initiation. It’s a unique song and every performance is different. My favorite of his is Run A Good Race but I can’t find any live videos. It’s a shredder.

…there’s also some Beatles in there too. He blends a lot of songs together sometimes. Keep checking him out and you’ll find videos of him teaching the audience to play bass, rhythm and melody with one hand.

Tommy is ein CGP - also ein "Certified Guitar Player" - davon gibt es bislang nur 6 Personen, die diesen Titel (zu Recht) tragen! :) Wenn ihr dieses M.W.-Willams-Cover schon großartig fandet, ... also ihr könnte Euch nicht vorstellen, was Tommy sonst noch so drauf hat. Das war eher eine unterhaltsame Spaß-Demonstration von ihm! Ihr solltest Euch mal anschauen, was der mit der Gitarre anstellen kann, wenn Er es Ernst meint! XD Tommy ist eigentlich auch jedes Jahr (!) auf Welt-Tournee und regelmässig in Europa und Deutschland unterwegs! Allerdings immer schnell ausverkauft. Das nächte EU-Konzert ist im Januar 2024 in Paris ... könnte mir vorstellen, dass Er danach wieder nach Deutschland kommt, aber Termine sind mir noch nicht bekannt. Lohnt sich aber auf jeden Fall, sich das mal live zu gönnen! :) Bis dahin spielt Tommy ersteinmal in Australien, America und Japan, ... Das Video "Tommy Emmanuel - Windy & Warm + Classical gas, Seoul 2009" ist ganz nett - ist von einem Konzert, dass damals sogar im japanischem TV übertragen wurde. Ich mag ja immer die Reaktion von den Japaner, die sonst eher ruhig und zurückhalten sind - die rasten quasi aus, wenn Er spielt! Da könntest Ihr ja mal reischauen! Ich übe derweil auf meiner Gitarre noch seinen "Guitar Boogie" und seine smoothe Version von Hendrix's "Purple Haze" (aus der Garten-Session). Alles Gute! :)

Wenn man so ein Video macht wäre das echt nett wenn man beide Hände von Tommy sehen kann, ich denke das war gemeint, und man sollte T. Emmanuel einfach nicht mit anderen Gitarristen vergleichen weil er einzigartig ist, das wird ein ganz schnell klar wenn man sein live Performance erlebt. @@formeffekt
