This piece is performed on Peter Coombes first Classical Model completed in 2013. While at the FAME festival in Melbourne I had the chance try an original L & H. These mandolins produce a rather unique sound. I play with the Auckland Mandolinata orchestra in New Zealand.

Really enjoyed this and a chance to hear this version of the L&H. Marissa - love your playing as well. A 2 point mando is my personal favourite. What strings did you use gauge wise? I play an Eastman DGM2 which is modeled after Bacon. A much different sound.

Hi Lloyd, beautiful playing! May I ask what piece you're playing? Thank you for sharing this link on our PlettroMano facebook page. I am interested to know more about your mandolin. I know Peter Coombe has made mandolins before for other members of FAME, but was this instrument commissioned by you? Its resemblance to my Lyon and Healy is uncanny!!

Hi Marissa and thank you for your kind comments. I write instrumental music however am new to the mandolin orchestra, and am really loving playing this music and sight reading. This is my first outing for writing on mandolin. Its called Melbourne Dance because it was yourself and Joel who were so inspiring to watch at FAME earlier this year. I don't really like bowl backs as I am used to the bright sound of an A style mandolin which I play in bluegrass. I never planned on buying this flash mandolin, but I am so glad I did. Peter spent 12 years researching this, bought an original and created this first model. It has a plain headstock, not scrolled. I absolutely love it. I think it sounds the same as yours, or what I hear on your album. The Thomastic strings, mediums are a big part of the sound and playing experience. The action is wonderful for pull offs and legato stuff. Kind Regards Lloyd.
