I just love how Bruno Mars is the one Pop artist they didn't roast and even subtly praised. He really is one of the few Pop singers who's legitimately talented, both when it comes to instruments and song-writing. He was obviously trained formally in music theory, unlike most of the other "repeat the same 3 chords" artists in this video.

@A-rz7kx3 жыл бұрын
@@derrickc.7036 Not to be that guy, but Bruno Mars also is somewhat of a music thief lol. He straight up plagiarized Breakbot's _Baby I'm Yours_ and wrote _Treasure_ instead (he asked their record label if he could cover it and when they said no, he just wrote his own version of it) and he's been sued like 3 separate times for the song _Uptown Funk_ and its plagiarism. _24k Magic_ has also caused some controversy if I recall correctly. I can't remember where I read it originally, but I saw someone refer to Bruno Mars as a music stylist rather than a songwriter; that specifically had to do with his ability to take an existing piece of music and dress it up to sound more modern and adapted to today's audiences, without straight up stealing. That being said, his newest song is dope, there is no denying that. TL;DR: Bruno Mars is sneaky lmao

@Me-ju6gp3 жыл бұрын
@@languagenerd2231 Well I’ve never even listened to the whole song, but from the parts that I have heard, it was about someone calling her ugly, and she snapped back that she wasn’t. Then, she went into the chorus of her just saying “up” over and over again. The rest isn’t really enunciated clearly enough to understand, so any kind of meaning the song may or may not have is lost. As far as “Peaches,” the verses are actually nice. He sings about how much he loves his wife and stuff, so good for him, but then the chorus is just about stupid stuff like weed and peaches, which are both completely irrelevant to the rest of the song.
@oliviadunham50373 жыл бұрын
@Me you can't tell someone what a song is about without reading the lyrics. Although I do agree that the lyrics to the Justin Bieber song are stupid, there is more going on in the Cardi B song. I would suggest doing your research before attempting to answer someone's question. "it's up then it's stuck" is Georgia (a southern state in the U.S.) slang for a problem that won't go away. There are lots of songs in hip hop that are essentially clapping back. To my understanding, it's a way to show prevalence and strength in a society that has oppressed people of color. Hip hop has evolved from R&B which evolved from jazz, largely created by black musicians in the United States. Cardi's Up is just one song out of many that is evolving and keeping to a deep tradition of black art.
@Me-ju6gp3 жыл бұрын
@@oliviadunham5037 I know I can’t. I wasn’t trying to give a perfect interpretation. I literally said I haven’t even heard the whole song. I'm not a professional, just have been playing classical music for 20+ years. Queen is in a league of their own. Bohemian Rhapsody is a master piece. The chord structures are incredibly complicated and advanced (definitely not the stand 4 chords). I was in an a capella group and we sang Somebody to Love one year and it was very hard to sign the chords, we also sang a Corrs song that year, which was pretty easy. Queen was a 100 times more difficult

So sad that "Leave The Door Open" blows so many people away........there were decades of songs like this in the 60s and 70s.

Songs like that back then were "normal". Leave the door open is such a refresher from all the autotune in the music industry. The songs back then were very good, I prefer to listen to "old" music even though I am only 14. I like the melody better and the instruments are just *chefs kiss* . It took real talent to be a singer/musician back then
