We filmed these reactions in 2017; the weekend before BTS Spring Day was released. I recently organized the CMR schedule so that the WINGS solo reactions will be posted in 2018 and I cannot/will not move them up any sooner.
However!!!! I have recorded Yunyi and Kevin's reactions to them already! If you want to watch their COMPLETE reactions to ALL 7 solos, you can watch them right now by becoming a patron on patreon: / reacttothek

*DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of the songs or videos being reacted to in this video. All credits to the companies that own them.
Also, none of us are PROFESSIONAL musicians. So if you come here for a strict breakdown/analysis of the music, you won’t be getting that. This is strictly my conservatory musician friends taking time in their schedule to watch kpop for fun, and throw in any musical comments that come into their mind! Also please do not complain about any "boring" reactions...some of the musicians have blank faces since they are concentrating so deeply on analyzing the music.

The snickers thing is actually a reference to his childhood because whenever his mom would leave somewhere he'd be sad and she always gave him a snickers.

First time I watch this (not here) I thought of a commercial for Snickers and its slogan, about you're not being yourself when you're hungry. Especially since he pulled the candy bar out of his pocket along with the pills, but ate the candy instead of taking the pills. Now, reading your comment about the amusement park and him laying on the candy bars, I have a better understanding about that scene in that video.

Only BTS does this type of music, even the K-pop Industry knows that BTS is a Special group like nothing can replace them. I'm not a deep kpop fan but correct me if i'm wrong. I think that only BTS crossovers their musics/mv's since debut until now.. BTS has a story since they created as a kpop group and that is what makes them "Special" unlike the other kpop groups like after they debut they just make random musics & random stories.. look I know what a "kpop music" is cause I know legendary kpop groups like Suju, Wonder Girls, SNSD, Shinee etc. but when BTS came out I bet that they will be different like they are escaping kpop music and just make their "own" music and that's what they did...

Bungtan I’ve watched several theory videos and they make sense. It’s still mind blowing because nobody actually confirmed these theories but sometimes all of them make sense. If you take better look to the videos that form the storyline and those theories too all this make sense. You can connect them in many different ways.

The reactors respectfully voice their opinions with proper support and reasons behind their stance, and Umu (the person behind the camera who runs the channel, edits videos, etc.) does a great job of keeping the reactors informed so that they can get the full experience. Hope you'll watch more videos on this channel, as they're all enjoyable and everyone is so likable! 😊

I absolutely love Hugo and Gwen's final statement about the HYYH/Wings story as a whole, how they related it to personal experience, and commented about how a storyline such as this couldn't exist in american pop music. I also love that Yunyi was so excited about one of her favorite pieces being mentioned and the amazing context to it that just went perfectly with the narration. To me this proves that this story depends so much on personal interpretation, and that every single theory has a validity that no one can question. I also love how when reacting to these teasers umu takes the time to try and remind the reactors of each members storyline, I feel without that it would be way more confusing then it already was. Hands down, best reaction channel and reactors I've ever seen. (that was way too much like an essay, oops p.s first ever comment on a video)

Your channel caught my attention because it says "classical musicians" react BTS, so I said 'hmmm, this must be interesting" . I watched some of the video reactions and their comments about things I hadn't seen nor even paid attention to . It really shook me up and opened my eyes to the fact that BTS KPOP is more than just jammin' to music with awesome dance routines ( which I greatly admire BTW). I'm not young to be fangirling over some kids, I watch them because I started loving dance routines like the 90's NSYNC, then I stopped because they split. Now comes BTS, wins awards in the USA and they caught my attention and watch their videos every once in a while. But your channel really blew me away. Your friends' commentaries and analisis got me thinking that maybe BTS's KPOP is deeper and has so much more to offer than just what I mentioned before. Sorry for the long comment. Thank you! Great content !

Joolz4U I’m old enough to have liked *NSYNC and New Kids on the Block but I’ve never fangirled as hard with them as I do with BTS. They have deep stories to tell but deliver in a catchy music and dance package, which I do appreciate 😁.

I can relate. When i first watched spring day by bts, i just thought of it as a beautiful sad song. But one day i was watching a reacttothek video of spring day and just happened to read a comment. It explained the meaning and the purpose behind the song. And i was shook to the core. The song was about a boat/ship accident in korea with hundreds of teenagers on it dying, which the korean govt tried to cover up. Spring day was so subtle yet brave and hauntingly sad. The fact that bts ACTUALLY IS behind the ideas of these stories and compositions and lyrics etc is totally amazing. I respect them so much.♥️

I totally agree... You know at the very very end of the book, Sinclair says he metaphorically looks into a mirror and sees himself, "now completely resembling him, my brother, my master". (This is Jin's mirror scene). I guess Sinclair has become like Demian, and Demian has always been an adult in a way, one who experienced a lot of shit but turned out all the stronger because of it. So Jin at the end in the mirror is the resolution: He's done, he's grown up, and he made it. I'm still not sure how the different characters fit together though, like the whole thing with the fusing circles?

Hugo and Gwen seemed so touched. This is the kind of effect BTS' music and videos has on people..don't hit me with the whole 'they're just a trendy group'. I won't go as far as to say they're the only group that tackles difficult issues in society that's just being delusional but I will say that theirs is one of the voices that are actually being heard and standing out. I can't even explain how proud I am to be an ARMY and support these 7 boys that are so special beyond compare, to the point I feel sorry for people who don't stan them. They don't know what they're missing out on. Wow I'm getting emotional now I need to stop.

I've refrained from commenting because I had actually been avoiding watching the shorts. It's because I feel I'm in this uncomfortable period of adulthood where all of it speaks to painfully close. So many heavy things I've had to carry and now that I'm older I'm learning to bear them in a way that doesn't burden others. Sometimes I want so badly to be a kid, even though my youth was no picnic. Because then I could lean on adults who were doing what I'm doing now: Being strong for someone else and bearing things quietly with a difficult dignity. It's so hard. I watched the shorts because I love this channel and I felt like I wasn't watching them alone, like I had moral support. Thank you for sharing.

Damn... this comment got deeper than the actual shorts. I think what somewhat calms me and comforts me about this comment, is that everyone can relate somewhat to what you're saying. Yes it's different for everyone, but we all have our reality that was never easy to begin With, we just carry everything in a way where nobody else can see it pulling us down. So the fact that I and everyone else can relate to this, somewhat comforts me and makes me feel better about this sorta thing for myself. Basically what I'm trying to say is, you're not alone! We may all be different, and we may dislike some people, but we all connect and share something in some shape or form. Just like this. :) And that's what the BTS ARMY is all about. 💜

I used a translator (please understand if the grammar is incorrect and you do not understand it) Apples have two meanings in Korean. There are two kinds of words in Korea called apples (I don't know the pronunciation to display them, so please understand even if they are translated into eating apples). In Korea, pronunciation and expression are the same, but one is an apple that eats, and the other is the word "apology" which refers to when one forgives one's mistake. In the video, they used the word "apology" to forgive, which they described as "eating apples."

Can i just say that the conversation like the last 2-3 minutes was so necessary? when wings came out i truly realized why i like this group so much: their ambiguity and concept is nothing like western artists. its entirely based on how you, the viewer, interpret the videos and not straight forward like lemonade (which btw i love)... idk just felt the need to point out just how awesome their little "geeking out" moment was 😭💜

Guochen Li Guochen Li the both are alluding to hoseok's short film. in it, the film discusses depression/treatment through pills, gwen and hugo are just kind of appreciating how the writers pulled this off, with gwen kind of giving her own story with depression and how she (was or is idk) medicated. hope this helps :) if not you could search up theories

OK FIRST OFF as far as i know, no one in the army fandom had pointed out Liszt??? god yunyi you're amazing. and props to hugo and gwen at the end because same! 1) im just really glad someone else out there got the strong message conceived in the short films 2) "part of us is the people we're friends with" tell me how did gwen get that demian reference?? 3) "to anyone who says kpop is happy, shallow, no meaning. holy fuck!" YEAH LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE AT THE BACK. honestly tho, its the hard truth that kpop is indeed still viewed as shallow like that. idk if u guys know about the drama surrounding jeff and his rollingstones article about bts. kpop conscious fans were mad because of the sloppy wording, it came off as denigrating PSY and a whole kpop to bring BTS up. kpop fans know that many groups have written social conscious songs, heck even when u read psy's lyrics, its saturated with satire but was masked in an upbeat song and party mv so people missed the messages. BUT kpop fans also shouldn't deny that BTS somehow succeed in getting their messages to their audience. BTS somehow get armys to take their music and crafts seriously. i've been a kpop fans since 2009, and NEVER ONCE thought of reading kpop songs lyrics let alone trying to analyze the lyrics UNTIL BTS. i used to side eye kpop for being manufactured and robotic, but bts opened my eyes. bts broke my prejudice against kpop. bts is manufactured but they're special in many ways. it makes me accept that being manufactured is not a bad thing. BTS make me see kpop in a different light. i hope kpop stans can at least appreciate that? 4) "they're not doing this for publicity but as an artistic form and part of that comes from the group dynamics" hugo is sooooo on point! - i've seen some haters being ugly saying how their faves break records with no promos, no teasers, no theories, no hardcore choreos, no sns interaction etc etc. lets be real here, they're shading bangtan because their faves did better on chart without all those 'gimmicks' - except its not gimmicks, bang pd is an art major, he worked closely with artistic group of people like lumpens. he likes this sort of things! he's very insightful in his field. like the Wings tour trailer has so little views, that trailer is probably only watched by armys who are guaranteed to go to the concerts anyway even without watching the trailer. so in no way the trailers gonna help fill a venue. but even so, the trailer was so wonderfully made, high budget, high production for a mere trailer. anyways, i'm more proud of Bangtan and BigHit for the quality contents they serve on the table, for their passion to share art and music, for their sincerity to make good quality music and MVs with good messages that will comfort the fans, for their hardwork to showcase beautiful, powerful performances on stage. the records they achieved are just by products of their blood, sweat and tears. i stan bangtan not for their records, but for their music and crafts :)

I have no words except that even though senior KPOP groups are very popular and high quality the message and artistic content will always be props to BTS and BigHit Entertainment. This is because aside from making their own efforts to stand up as a small company even before, they went in the realm of art and film concept. Also, Bang PD did a smart move. He shares his interest with BTS especially rapmon like art and books which is very interesting. It's true that KPOP is manufactured but for some reason I find the sincerity of BTS in making music and creative concepts and they learn a lot from what they do. They do not just follow orders and do what the staff wants them to do but they participate in all of the things that are happening with them. They compose songs about their own life and social issues, also concerning the youth because the younger generation listens to them. All of the things you said should at least be relayed to the media, especially those media outlet who have very little information about them. All they hold are just prejudices, stereotypes and such that is why Korean pop music will never be able to spread out entirely in the international scene. If they just delve in and learn from artists like BTS, only then will they realize KPOP as a genre's worth. But they pay little attention and they only post things about them for *views* and *popularity* which is *nasty*

EXACTLY THIS! No kpop group has made me think and bother reading lyrics. BTS have amazing discography with amazing and goosebumps lyrics. Like Spine Breaker, N.O., Tomorrow, Spring Day, etc. Totally breaks the kpop stereotype that it's just "catchy" pop music you can dance to.

If you see this comment please thank Yunyi for explaining Liszt Benediction and the whole religious man story because I connected because I connected it with Demian and it has the exact same thing the religious man in Demian is the one who introduced Abraxas to Emil Sinclair and there are many other references like the paintings in #1, the birb, the apples in Lie because Sinclair lied about stealing apples and omg i dont wanna give it all away and after making that connection, it just blew my mind. The Liszt Benediction part was definitely intentional and Im sure Rapmon knows that story too god that guy's a genius my head aches with all the connections it's making I'm so glad I read Demian. I don't wanna reveal too much, I hope they read it! P.S Does Hugo always look as good as he does in these videos?

I think it's good that the tension just kind of drops. This series doesn't have a certain and definite narrative, and not everything gets resolved in life, Demian in a way didn't have proper closure, so I think it reflects nicely rather than having a storybook ending.

"This is so surprisingly upbeat, but it's so depressing" My thoughts when I first read the lyrics for MAMA. I remember Namjoon describing how MAMA was just like Hobi. There's this happy vibe but behind it lies a deeper meaning -- a deeper person which is Hoseok.

Mooji Boldbaatar Bingo! When Rapmon was talking about the list of songs in the Wings album and how each of them was made, he mentioned that although MAMA has such a funky beat to it, and seems all exciting, the lyrics are subdued and deep and has more to it than just a happy song and he said the song is the kind of person Hobi is. He said the song resembles Hoseok just like you said.

Honestly, though, I am always happy and more than satisfied with BigHit and BTS' artistic choices. I trust them with that. Their music videos are so amazing which are highlighted especially since HYYH. Before their comeback with WINGS, they surprised us with these short films (plus, an amazing Intro) that are definitely mind-boggling, creative, unique, and artistic. It's actually amazing since they had been carrying such pressure for producing and releasing the film, Prologue, and the story lines of both I NEED U and RUN. I thought that _maybe_ they'd tone down a bit since it'd be a lot more difficult for them (-to live up with the expectations of the public-) to release even _more_ artistic than or as artistic as the HYYH series. But no, they didn't. They continued with WINGS and they're definitely doing so well. I'm more than amazed and proud of them. To this day, I still think that BigHit and BTS will provide us quality content with their songs, music videos, and short films. Jimin once said in an interview that a new storyline is made. Let's wait for that. I believe in them. Thank you so much, ReacttotheK (Umu) for showing these short films to them. And thank you so much to these wonderful and amazing musicians (especially Hugo and Gwen for talking about the films deeply and in a different perspective) who have appreciated the productions of both BigHit and BTS.

You could try to explain the stories behind the MVs by watching theory thursday! Every theory video, in my opinion, seems right! summary of her theory: Jin died, and is watching over the other boys from a place after death. But when we see all of the happy moments (prologue) it is actually just Jin imagining that he is still alive and that they are all happy. But in real life, all of the boys are having a difficult time, and can not realize that Jin will never come back (the boys stories somehow combines.) They are really struggling, but one after one, they realize that they need to move on. And they do so with the help of fellow members. there is also something about spring day and not today about jungkook and how he feels like the other members actions affects him in a bad way (he tries to run away from them, but they are like his brothers...) BTW, as a fellow classical musician, it is really fun to watch you guys react to kpop!

Watching all of these reactions of Classical Musicians to each songs from #BTS #WINGS album makes me appreciate more the album like I didn't even realize how great each songs musically and how it used a lot of classic music and orchestration. I mean I love it before but not really know or sure about each of it musically and artistically and why I love it . After watching these musicians' reaction it's like an enlightenment for me. They really pointed out all of the musical and artistic values and even the messages of each songs and videos. I love this channel so much!!😍👏👍

What an intelligent group of young people. I appreciated how much the vocalists actually absorbed the message of the entire series and were affected by it, even just from watching it the first time. Incredible. Thank you for the great content.

I love that they appreciated the short films as works of art because honestly the storyline of the HYYH is super deep and thoughtful according to ones own interpretation. It's amazing that as a group BTS and bighit created such a beautiful series about youth.

honestly bighit deserve this kind of reactors, people who can truly appreciate their works for what it is. and not just dismiss it as fakedeep or tryhard.

BTS is really perfection!!! and their music is a complete masterpiece. tysm for these videos girl. your reaction vids are literally the best coz the reactors have a true recognition of pure music and the emotions and meanings hidden within it. they can feel each every bit our boys try to express. you are the best. BTS is the best. saranghae!

I love BTS because they are very intentional in everything they do. The videos, the lyrics, the music, the production, the composition, everything has a deeper meaning. And you look deeper you will always be moved by what you discover.
