As a fan of EXID since debut, these girls struggled A LOT. First of all, 4 out of the 6 original members were JYP trainees, Hani and Uji were verrrryyy close to debut, but the debut plan was dismissed. Hani who's very good at study (and her parents & brother studied in famous universities) went to pursue her studies in China but went back to Korea after being offered to be in a new girl group that's promised to debut. Solji who previously in another girl group and debuted at very young age got her dreams crushed when they disbanded and became a vocal trainer instead and being told that she's shouldn't wish to redebut because she's "old and not as pretty as Goo Hara" (wtf??) Hyerin who actually trained with the rest of original EXID members was dropped from the debut lineup so she was failed to debut. LE was in a very respectable korean hip hop crew during her predebut days, she also wrote few hit songs for Troublemakers, Hyuna, Jewelry.. She also wrote a song that brought up Huh Gak's career but her composing skills never get acknowledged. Junghwa was a child actress and was a JYP trainee since very young. They also has changed companies for like twice?? Their companies fcked them up but thankfully their manager and staff who were with them since the very beginning never left their side. They were on hiatus for 2 years and Hyerin even worked part-time at an ice cream shop and used some of her money to feed EXID;; Basically they weren't appreciated until Hani's fancam blew up but they were constantly slut shamed. What I love the most about EXID is that they create their own music, they're comfortable and know what they're doing, the 5 members teamwork and bond are so strong since they've struggled together before. They deserve to be appreciated.

Luh Emanuel | In previous videos it's explained. Ben, Yunyi and Shimon will no longer be in the channel. Ben and Yunyi graduated and left to attend other school. Shimon wanted to focus more on school and stuff (I think). Also, Umu explained in the description about Yunyi's appearance in a few of future videos.

For those who are interested and want to look into them a little more: there is a Showtime reality show that follows their antics a little bit on YT with English subtitles (search Showtime EXID : - ). It is so interesting to me how this group almost collapsed before the song Up & Down became a viral hit precisely because of a suggestive dance move ... but then it materially bettered their lives; there must be a lot of conflicted feelings going on there, but I hope they continue to do well.

Specifically, the commentary on censorship in the Ah Yeah video refers to their previous music video Up and Down! That video has a lot of sexual connotations, but no explicit sexual imagery, and got banned on many networks in South Korea. It's like wtf, there's literally boy group videos with topless men grinding on the ground and stuff and those don't get banned 🙄

Ah Yeah has a very important message and I love to see how you got the message. EXID has gone through many difficult times until you get to where you are. ah yeah was SUCH a genius song and music video, it tackled the topic of hypersexualization and harrassment of women in a very clear way, but without being too on the nose. it's really upsetting that exid is still so underappreciated and people just see them as 'the sexy group". really proves the point of this song.

The most unappreciated group in the Kpop industry period. Everything that they do is so underrated by the industry from LE's songwriting/producing, to all of their vocals is soooo very underrated it's not even funny. They deserve to be recognized for what they do. I love EXID have since their debut as an American one of the reasons why I love is because they are underdogs and we Americans have a special place in our hearts for the underdogs. I really hope they do stay together even though Hani and Jeonghwa didn't renew their contracts with Banana Entertainment. I don't want them to go away.
