This is love going wrong... an argument, ending in her getting pushed out of the Window, landing on the medow, turning the ground red with blood - "dont speak over my voice" meaning dont tell lies about what happend, or i will return too haunt you - bleed in your bed and turning it red - as the ground outside his Window. Beautiful, haunting and Chills...🥶

To me the story is about one lover killing the other by pushing them out of the window, probably in affect. But the dead lover comes back, first with little remembrance but growing in strength and voice while the killers psyche breaks apart. Love is wild, because it is chaos. The greatest feelings turns into the greatest destruction and even brings the dead back. Love is a force of nature, neither good nor bad, but always conquering. Undeniable no matter who gets hurt in its way. That is that she means by wild. Untamable.

You should definitely check out the live at the Current version! Amazing harmonies in that one and very different to this. There's also a really amazing version with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. I very much see it as about domestic violence/abuse in terms of the story/subject matter. "Love is wild" not in a good way... As for more Aurora, I think you'd really like Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1) at the Nobel Peace Price concert.

My interpretation to this beautifully poetic written song: Hollow eyes rain against their will = crying Feathers from a pillow = a physical fight Words falling from a window = a domestic conflict A silent call = an internal cry for help Falling apart like a stone = loosing it mentally Landing like flower to a red ground = physical abuse Your dreams are dead = complete loss of moral perspective Dont speak over my voice = taking back control I will return from the shadows to bleed your bed = a warning to karma, in this or the after life (death might have happened) Basicly it is about a love affair gone horribly bad... imo

Yes. This song resonated with me instantly. I’m the daughter of an incredible woman. Unfortunately, my father was abusive and almost killed her. I witnessed it for the first decade of my life. This song makes me cry but feels so empowering, especially the “don’t you speak over my voice”. Me and mother are finally free.

A song about domestic violence that leads to death here. He threw her out of the window in anger. Probably in affect. She comes back to him either as a ghost or as his guilty conscience and chases him. Her voice is louder than his own. For me, this is the best performance, because here the "don't you speak over my voice" is very powerful and decisive. This is not the case in the other versions.

Not true, live at current session is amazing and had a powerful bit with that point, which she purposely makes stronger than the rest of the song! This concert is overpowered by orchestra and theatrics which aurora just doesn't need. She is amazing live with barely any backing except a bit of reverb and back up singers/instrumentalists.

Aurora is the physical embodiment of her music. She is simply a charismatic enchantress. Aurora also has a unique personality and she is very intelligent and also very, very funny. Check this out as a short glimpse of her personality and humour, a short clip from Tik Tok made with the assistance of a fan "How To Attract Guys", unfortunately this has been changed to a smaller screen version than it was originally but the effect is still good (kzbin.info_cEWy7MNchU). I hope you enjoy it.

warning, heavy subject matter ahead. it’s always been my interpretation, even if it’s quite literal, that the narrator has been pushed out of a window. that’s why the earth is covered red and she lands in the meadow. furthermore, that the person who did it might have r*ped or been in an abusive relationship with the narrator. saying time stands still, can’t remember that day, it feels like it happened quiet, eyes are hollow, pillow and bed being mentioned, “love is wild” all being things pointing to that type of traumatic event or relationship in my opinion. “and i bleed in your bed, turn it red, like the ground outside your window” being the line that always keeps me interpreting it this way. that being said though, this song is one of my absolute favorites no matter what interpretation i see in these reaction videos, and when a song can say so many things and be good every way it’s a wonderful thing.

The lyrics are complicated in the way that they're much open to interpretation and can represent different things to different people, but they are simple in the way that they definitely are written from a point of view of someone victim to something with a destructive nature. Simple in that her performance always makes me cry... I'm a 33 yo man and I've struggled a lot. I don't want to analyze my own reaction too much but having such a strong connection and emotional reaction to the song I think it's because I see the struggles Aurora has had and her strong mind to fight through it. This can be anything, but as we all know, a glass of water can only hold so much until it spills over... my connection would not be the same if I didn't see her and definitely not if I didn't hear her. I see her... bless her.

This is my favourite version of this song because it’s got strings, which creates this haunting atmosphere that accompanies the lyrics perfectly (the album version has a baritone (?) choir, which creates this space of doom, or the like). I always interpret this song as being about abuse from a loved one, hence the ‘love is wild’, feathers flying, blood in the bed, not remembering, and the hollowed eyes. The last part of ‘don’t you speak over my voice, I will return from the shadows’ is more so about haunting the perpetrator with remembering what happened, and that they won’t ever get peace with what monstrosities they committed. They can no longer lie, or misconstrue the reality of the matter. Now, this might just be since I cannot help but think about my mother (and her ex partner) and the abuse she put me through for years and years (directly, and indirectly), and how I fully believed and trusted that she loved me when I was a child simply because she said so, whilst her actions said otherwise.
@aliciaaltair

"I fully believed and trusted that she loved me when I was a child simply because she said so, whilst her actions said otherwise." Exactly describes my mother and childhood. Whether it's a parent or a spouse or someone else who supposedly loves you, they always have conciliatory words that follow the abuse as if it was a freak occurrence that will never happen again. Words are wind.

I think I like the version at Current better, there you have only Aurora and backup vocalist Silja Sol on guitar. The harmony between the two of them are just so beautiful 😍 It has nothing to do about war. This song is very sad, it’s inspired by domestic violence. And when she sings about “as I land like a flower on the meadow”, not a flower landing on the meadow, she’s singing about falling out through the window and landing dead like a flower on the meadow. “Love is wild”, it’s about how mean people can be in a relationship, domestic violence. Aurora talking about the songs on Infections Of A Different Kind step 1: “It’s quite empowering. Many of the songs are about people taking choices on behalf of themselves, about coming back for revenge. In my more delusional stories like ‘It Happened Quiet’ and ‘Churchyard’, the victim comes back to haunt the one that hurt them. It’s about the process in becoming a warrior, a true warrior for the world - but you have to work on your own stuff first.” AURORA Could you please react to “The Seed” official video It’s a very powerful song and music video I usually love her live performances the best, but with this song I think it’s very important to watch the video 👍 kzbin.info/www/bejne/lX7GkIKDatSBd5o

It will surprise me if Aurora did not write 90% of this song herself.... In every intervju and all the documentaries I have seen it is only Conqueror that is written as a collective. The "wiki" say: "AURORA said she started writing this song the first day after the release of her debut album." So my guess is that the song was mostly written, and she finished it with Sacha Skarbek. How much different it is finished is difficult for me to say, but Aurora like to have 100% controll over EVERY aspect of her songs, videos, layout, everything.... It was a big issue with Conqueror, she was not happy with it, and was "forced" to include it, and use it in the promotion.. and she was not happy... The moment the promotion tour was done she refused to preforme it anymore. She said in intervjues that she HATED the song. The song became a symbol on what she hated with the music industry. She told her management that if she ever had to give out music she did not like again, she would quit.... She told her sisters: "If I can't be me, what's the point?". (Sorce: "once Aurora documentary and intervjues in Norwegian newspapers).

Thank you for your reaction. I recommend you listen to her studio version with guitarist Silje as well. It’s intense in a completely different way. To me, like a lot of other ppl have written, this song is about domestic violence. When she sings “love is wild”, I hear “love is violent”. When she says “don’t you speak over my voice”, it’s a victim that finally speaks up. From what I have understood from comments, Aurora has never confirmed that this is what this song is about. She’s just said that the song is about what ppl want it to be, and you can go as deep as you want.

@@Euph3mia I’m so sorry to hear that you had to go through that. It must have been heartbreaking. I wanted to react to your comment, but tapping “thumbs up” felt so very wrong, but “thumbs down” means something very different. This is an instance where I wish that there were more options like there are on Facebook, where you can leave a heart or a hug. I haven’t been subjected to domestic abuse as such, but my parents had a loveless marriage, and I was the reason they married, and I sometimes feel that it came across. Not intentionally, but on some subconscious level I have felt that my younger sister has been treated differently than me. Even though we are grown up a long time ago, my sister still shows signs of that. I have been lucky to find a loving husband who I have two sons with. He has raised our sons to take very good care of their mom, so I am sooo thankful for that. I truly hope that you have love and happiness in your life ❤️ Hugs!

@@Euph3mia Take the time you need to heal. Be patient with yourself, and be kind to yourself. And don’t forget… all the kind words and care you would show a friend who would go through what you went through, show that to yourself. It’s so easy to be harder on yourself that you would be on other people. Try to tell yourself on a regular basis that you are good enough just the way you are. We tend to feed the inner voice that put ourselves down, and then that voice becomes the louder one (I know I’m guilty of that), but I try get better at telling myself that I’m good enough, that I am loved, that I am good at things I am good at, to boost my confidence a little. I still have a long way to go (and I’m a lot older than you), but I do believe in that we get better at what we practice, so I will keep practicing 😊 So next time you look at yourself in the mirror, give yourself a nice smile, and feel good about yourself for being able to do that 😊 Baby steps are WAY better than no steps at all 😊 Take care 🤗🤗🤗

I really enjoyed your reaction. I have noticed that a lot of American reactions are based on analytics of words (perhaps not so strange since all the news is about "what did Trump mean" or "What did Biden mean" or "how well has Putin lied recently). It is a bit like how you discuss the second amendment. The idea at the time was great - is it interpreted and applied in the best way possible - that is a different discussion altogether. Aurora is working in arts - not in diplomacy - so she often counter-points the feel of the musical writing with the text she is conveying. And she is deliberately not giving us a conclusion. While her stage-persona is telling us "This is of critical importance" via her performance. And that is ART. Do I need to have met Edith Piaff or understand French to discover 20th-century peak art? I do not think the brave people of Ukraine have time in distress to watch reaction videos on youtube. If one of you do - know I as one welcome you here if you need safe harbour for a (hopefully) short while. To Russian young people - I know most of you are not "Kremlin" just like I know Americans are not "white house". I hope we can associate via the internet and in-person soon since I like our "hood". It is not personal that reality is what it is right now. Good people belong among W&W

This song is about violence. Most likely rape. And by "love is wild" she means love can be violent. Sad song, chilling performance..❤

A very good reaction. Please check the amazing young 14-year-old singer Viki Gabor, who performed a brilliantly cover of Rihanna -„Stay”in the program ”Your Face Sounds Familiar”. link below. Greetings!!
