I had the privilege of hearing a Nahre Sol piece, Crossroads, performed live today, and throughout the piece I was reminded of the Legend of Zelda soundtrack. Funny coincidence that I found this!

Okay, that’s actually hilarious now that I think about it. Somebody else would be trying to play that piano I’d imagine, and the keys would feel like they’re frozen solid; they wouldn’t budge when the pianist tries to play a chord; yeah? That would be so hilarious; as soon as Nahre comes to the piano and plays it, they’d work like normal. “Seems fine to me”; then the other one would try, and the same thing would happen…? That would make the most hilarious KZbin video!!! Big prank!

OOT’s soundtrack made me want to be a musician, it’s crazy how that happens. Playing BotW and hearing the rearrangements of all the iconic themes decades later was deep. This is terrific! Are you adapting video game scores for piano? A live performance of this work would be thrilling!! Perhaps arrangement with chamber ensembles would be a good project for the future. Yes! Rito Village has a beautiful reimagining of the melody from Dragon Roost Island! And the beginning of the piece gives me a sense of elevation, drifting on the wind… The composers writing a motif to share with Rivali’s theme was also genius. I have such love for this soundtrack, and reverence for Koji Kondo paving the way.
