A rare "inside" view of a motorcycle club in Toronto, one of the network of such fraternal groups in the large centers across North America. The names they adopt (Satan's Choice is only one) are as individual as their special ethics and views of life, all freely expressed in this film.

How did the years slip by so fast. There were about 50 of us from a run down housing estate and we called ourselves Braunstone Greasers. We had all sorts of British bikes and rode them everywhere, sleeping rough on beaches, in hay barns, wherever our bikes took us. Now half of us are dead, or old men living through videos like these.

I first remember seeing this club as a little child visiting Wasaga Beach in the 70s. I'm not sure, but I think I recall seeing a patched Satan's Choice as recently as the early 90s in a bar in Collingwood Ontario when I was stopping through. That was the last time I seen any trace of their trappings outside of an original Satan's Choice club ring on ebay last year.

Ironically, like the rest of society, their lives *are* completely controlled by the higher-ups in the MC, and in probably much more intrusive ways than the average "working stiff" faces (particularly for prospects and lower-ranking members)...also with *much more severe consequences* for "falling out of line," than those in "mainstream" society. I mean no disrespect to any MC club, active or defunct, in any way, but being part of an MC *REQUIRES* doing certain things, unless you are the "head honcho," so to speak.

Agree....their club, or any club ever is just another replacement for the smothering existence the members were hoping to avoid by joining in the first place. Still, this is a fascinating documentary of the time and so happy I fell across it. Praise be to the weird and mysterious ways of the KZbin algorithm...this was truly 27 minutes of my precious lifespan well spent.

It's pretty laughable. Those who live the '9-5' in those days, paid for the roads those bikes travelled on, for the bus that he rode on etcetc. All fine & good to live one's way but not when it's on other peoples' dimes. Maybe that's why people were too tired to 'have fun'. Working, raising families, paying bills and taxes ... kinda tiring especially knowing others aren't paying their way (stealing and such).

$15,000 in 1965 is equivalent to over approx $115,000 in 2016 dollars. People who earn $115k can still spoil their kids. And I know many who make over $115K. Not me, by the way. Most people earned nowhere near $15k in 1965. More like $3k to $5K. It was tough then as it is now. Probably tougher back then in many ways: no medicare, tougher education standards, but at least taxes were lower then. And sales tax was about 1% in Ontario.

I lived 3 houses down the street from the choice's club house on Cordella Ave. Toronto(it was a small garage), in the early 70's.At that time guys named Lovely Larry(he alwaya had a whip in his hand), Blue and Cecil Kirby were around a lot. They kept to themselves and didn't hassle anyone .Sometimes cat calls to hot babes walking bye in halter tops on their way to Bert's corner store or Nick's restaurant ,the chicks liked the attention.I remember Cecil Kirby as being friendy and quick to smile if you passed by the club house while he would be working on a bike out front. At that time Younge Street had the walking mall.Good memories.

It might be fine for the young to live like this and party every day but try it once your 50-60 yr's old. Outlaw bikers of that age alway's seem kind of sad to me and many I'm sure would sooner be at home watching tv instead of pretending to still feel rebellious and partying with the club night after night. Ya get old man. And way too tired to even pretend your having a good time when all you want to do is go home and go to bed.

In those days you could buy a nice house for 15,000 U.S. dollars. But today you can barely get a decent bike for that. i drive a sportster and that cost 8k USED of course. I dont buy new, can't afford it. This is a working mans world, and today a fella needs a hellaluva lot more than 10,000 or 15,000 a year!!!

"...ten or fifteen thousand a year..." IDK what the rate-of-exchange is between USD and Canadian dollars is or was, at the time, but I imagine 10-15K/year, is *nothing* today in Canada, like it was back then! Same with US dollars!

Gangs all have rules - but they talk about not wanting to answer to rules. Just admit it - you're evil and you want to do evil things - stop pretending like being gang members make you "free"

They don't want to live by societies rules. Never said they didn't want any rules at all. I think maybe you should actually talk to a biker or two. Then you would realize they are just like everyone else.

This video is really stupid. I think it was scripted and they just tried to act it all out. But even with the bad acting allot of what went on back then is somewhat true.

Connie Bleasdale you are so right Connie. I could have got in that movie/documentary but I was not into that...but we have to remember that this is how it all started...and some of those members did last for a long time..if you have any information on the Choice back then and want to share it...I am writing a book on the Choice and other 1% bikers back in those days. My email is franko 4444 at gmail dot com.
