Thank you, Michael Spyres! This is the first time I’ve been able to bear hearing another artist sing Nessun Dorma after Pavarotti’s rendition of it in “Yes, Giorgio” was forever emblazoned onto my heart. It’s a bittersweet moment because it represents time marching on, and our need to make room in our hearts, and in our ears, for contemporary artists who have made arias their own - arias of which the definitive performances were by beloved singers of days gone by. It also made me smile - because it represents time marching on, and the knowledge that life continues, and what we once thought would always bring us sadness does give way to wonderful and beautiful experiences. Different. But, wonderful and beautiful nonetheless. Bravo!
