I couldn't agree with you more on this one Mark; DLC nearly kills this game. It's a shame too, Forza 5 had the potential to be truly great. I've been playing Forza since the original, and Gran Turismo even longer; and for a while Forza was my go to console sim. I still like the game, but Gran Turismo 6 stole back the crown. Can't wait for Project C.A.R.S!

We can argue that GT or Forza is better but it's obvious both developers love and care about cars and make their games with passion. Both games are awesome as racing games (not necessarily as a simulation), but one of them is clearly in the wrong ownership

I really love this game, you're right about the DLC but it does give you a lots of cars to play with and gives you new free cars every once in a while like recently they gave us 4 brand-new cars, but if they had given all the DLC cars for free with the exception of maybe some special ones than this would've been tremendous in every way. Even with the DLC issue you still get a lot and it is by far the most gorgeous racing game I've ever played or seen.

I miss the days of old school expansion packs when they give you another game for a game you already had. Remember the Scourge of Armagon and Dissolution of Eternity packs for the original Quake? Or Tribunal and Bloodmoon for Morrowind? Now that's game addons done right.

I like that the second car I raced in this game was a Mercedes 190E.. I mean it is the car I am used to. I sit in the drivers seat of that car quite often when I am on the road so huray. Gran turismo 6 had that car too, but it didn't have a cocktail view.... Such a shame..

I'm having a hard time believing this is footage from the all-new, all-powerful Xbox One, and not it's 10 year-old predecessor. Have we hit a plateau with video game graphics? I clicked this link expecting to at least be visually blown away.

Been playing the Forza games on the 360, namely Forza 3, 4 and Horizon, so initially I was looking forward to 5, before all the crap about the Xbox One decision making turned me off from getting the console, then Forza 5 itself having way fewer tracks and cars than Forza 4, not to mention as Mark stated, they went way too DLC happy with this one; cherry picking Forza favourite cars and putting them behind paywalls. Forza 5 does look great, but these questionable DLC practices and having fewer content than the previous game, didnt make it seem like it was worth buying another console for. I understand that launch games on new consoles often are lighter in content; Gran Turismo 3 had fewer cars and tracks than Gran Turismo 2, a PS1 game, due to being in the PS2 launch window, but at least Gran Turismo 3's visuals and gameplay were notably improved from GT2 and didnt enforce any DLC practices on you. Forza 5's gameplay and visual changes only look subtle in comparison to 4.

If there is one thing that I hate about this game it is the music. It's horrible, it's like one track repeating over and over again. And since Microsoft decided that can not play mp3 there is no solution but to mute all the music in the game. And it's a shame because it's the greatest driving game i played since Forza Horizon.

Well said about the DLC. It's one thing on a 2.99 Android game, it's another thing on a 49.99 console title. I have friends with kids who spend their lives being pestered to give them money for "FIFA points". Fuck off Electronic Arts and Microsoft.

Personally I prefer the less realistic games like NFS Hot Pursuit etc.I find racing on a racing track boring. Racing on the streets and highways is a lot more fun.

I'm with you on on highways and point-to-point open road races, but i hate streets with passion. also i prefer realistic games. my ideal genre doesn't exist :( the closest to it would be forza horizon, but it's a bit too arcadey (specially when you go offroad) and the world is pretty uninteresting too. i wish i could play forza horizon on nfs rivals' world.

Paul Keefe well that is an arcadey game, but i don't really mind. the thing is from what i gather, drive club only has closed tracks (as in laps) despite the open-road looks. and the biggest track takes about 4 minutes to lap.

Paul Keefe to put it simply: put either gt6 or forza motorsport in a open world as large as the crew's and as interesting as nfs rival's. lots of cars, customization and an interesting game progression. and free roam. with seamless online features. forza horizon is the closest to that i've played so far (or maybe TDU 1, but the driving sucks there so it fails at the very core of the game), but it's still far from what i want. the world sucks, it's a tad too arcadey (specially because it rewards dirty driving and crashing. wtf) and there's barely any customization (though fh2 will fix that bit)

Mark hit the nail on the head when he said "$50 and you don't get the whole game" This is why you wait for the Greatest Hits/Platinum Hits budget version with ALL DLC included. Case in point. Dead Rising Goty Gran Turismo 5 Fallout 3/New Vega Goty Mortal Kombat Komplete I can go on and on but DLC in this generation has really gone too far.

At least give the option to unlock those cars and people can earn them, and others can straight up buy them. But don't include it in the disc you purchased and say you have to pay more money to get the content written in that game disc. This is what gaming has turned into? I'll stick with my last gen WiiU. I also own a 4gb 360 which at the time I didn't know some games require install. So I need a HDD to play some of those games... Basically what's the point aside from money do they have for doing things like this...

I selected 1080p on the player, and I have a new 1080p monitor for my PC. Great for CGR, isn't it? There still is some heavy aliasing at 0:27 and the game footage looks low-res. I guess I am spoiled with PC graphics, even in next-gen. What video compression do you use?

youtube 1080p videos run at a shitty 6mbps cap h264 compression. that's lower than the bitrate i use for my 720p non-youtube videos. so you can't rely on youtube for image quality checks.

Look, you may find it annoying, but it's still the truth. PC gamers throw around that stuff out there because those graphical improvements and modding abilities are legitimate reasons for why they chose a PC. Console gamers also have reasons for why they choose their systems. Perhaps they got a console for the ease of use. Maybe they got it for the exclusives. Maybe they're just fans of the specific company. Either way, they're all legitimate reasons to choose a Console. I'm just sick of watching console gamers talk about how their console is better, and then going around to shout at PC gamers who want to give their input. Every system is good in it's own way. It's up to the consumer to decide what's best for him/her. This dude found that the PC was best for him and wanted to express why. You probably have reasons for choosing whatever you have. Let's all stop fighting and be thankful that we have choices in this market. Then let's all play some awesome games!

Been a Forza fan since Forza 1 I own all Forza games to date including Horizon and getting Horizon 2 day 1 it's safe to say that Forza 5 was rushed its not a bad game but he is right there are cars that should be ingame but are DLC, DLC in a way is ruining games DLC should be Worthy add-ons not something that usto be in previous games or taking out of a game and make it so you own it only if you pre-order the game hopefully Forza 6 has over 600cars and 40tracks no Forza game has let me down yet

Well high speed is considered 24Mbs Down 1Mbs up. They are doing a Australia wide upgrade but that could take another 5 - 10 years.

Average speed in oz is 5.8mbps, it's terrible. I moved recently and went from 16mbps to 3.2mbps. But on the upside the sharks are no longer an issue!

Each game in the series got better and better until the 5th one came out. Forza 6 is a better upgrade than 5. Forza series isn't backwards compatible because they knew the game wasn't as good as forza 4.
