Classic Game Room HD reviews the VECTREX MULTI-CART for Vectrex with all Vectrex games included on game cartridge! The Multi-Cart for Vectrex also contains a number of homebrew titles like Frogger, Moon Lander and Omega Race. +Leo Oliveira Vector graphics, that aren't filled in with textures? I guess. How would you feel if the vectors themselves were not just one solid colour, but could be their own colour? So you could have a green colour for like grass, and brown for mud, etc etc. It wouldn't be hard to make something like that these days in software.

Bungis Albondigas every game would look like a retro tron. Even so, pretty nice idea for retro style games. I don't think an uncharted would work properly with vector graphics only, however xD

How ingenious. As a child I was also the proud owner of a Vectrex. It always reminded me of Tron. Back then everything was better, even the future.

I love the look of the Vectrex. It can get so much done with just some lines on a black screen. I love how they glow and leave trails on the screen as well. Very appealing to the eyes.

The Vectrex was amazing. It used a Vector CRT which is why it didn't have any pixels compared to its peers. If only they'd used a colour display - but I suppose there must've been cost issues. Technically, this would've been the only machine able to provide perfect home versions of the Atari Vector CRT arcade games like Battlezone, Star Wars, Empire, Tempest etc. Just goes to show that the best and most innovative hardware doesn't always win or receive the recognition it deserves.

Seriously, this is waaay more impressive graphically than something like the Atari 2600. I mean look at how smoothly things move in a game like Pole Position here, and how clean the scaling of the cars is. I'm amazed this machine flopped back in the day: It had its own built-in screen, which is just visually mesmerizing, an actually pretty cool controller as well, and when used properly can produce some really nice vector graphics, including stuff that can be pretty convincingly like actual 3D too. This would have utterly blown me away back in the day, and far more so than stuff like the Tomytronic 3D toys that I actually thought were pretty cool too.

Lord karnage could u do a review of the super games 150 in 1 nes cart its red and is pretty much the best multicart available for the nes. It has everything from blaster master to little samson, also has mario 1-3, megaman 1-6, castlevania 1-2, contra 1-2, lifeforce and so much more i have been playing it for a couple of weeks now and it seems like something u would enjoy. They are pretty cheap around 19 bucks at aliexpress.com, but u have to wait awhile because it comes from china, there is also quite a few on ebay for a little more but faster shipping on most.

This is pretty darn sharp. I remember seeing one for sale back then but they really weren't promoted much at all. I can't recall seeing any commercials for it.

cool, that's the same multicart that I bought many years ago along with the Vec system directly from Sean Kelly (of Kelly & Taft fame!). I love StarFire on the vec and you will too if you like Star Wars The Arcade Game.

I love that someone made a multi-cart for the Vectrex. I suppose they expanded the ROM space or whatever you call it to do it. It is definitely a convenience to have a collection of games to play on one cartridge, and saves you money too. Getting those overlays though might be a bit harder. lol

@19psi With a vector monitor, you only have to enter he start and end coordinates of a line; the monitor then draws the rest of the line.

@LewdCrudeTattoo Wow, Xbox 360. Isn't that the one that has a 25% failure rate out of the box, and is substandard to the PS3 (which I have). I also own a Vectrex, and that still works just as well as when I got it almost 30 years ago. I'd be surprised if the X360 lasts anywhere near as long.

the thing that impresses me about the vectrex is its ability to scale graphics... consoles were not able to do this until the super nes came out with mode 7 several years later..

Someone should buy the patents and bring it back. But the screen might be an issue. I don't think that CRTs are made anymore. They'd probably have to go with an LCD.

Great cart. I have 2.0 of Sean Kelly's Multicart. It adds quite a few home brew titles. I was successful in printing out my own overlays with some cheap overhead film, but they weren't perfect.

Got mine 5 years ago for 240€ with one controller and 8 complete games. I consider myself lucky. And the guy that sold the console to me had all the advices that a Vectrex owner should know. One advice to be honest : unplug the Vectrex when you're not playing it.
