This will always be the quintessential Cubs game! At Wrigley...beautiful sunny day with a packed crowd...Harry & Steve on TV...before lights & before all of the other changes to the Park. You can't get any better than this! Well, I guess you can be in the bleachers watching the game with a hot dog in one hand and a cold beer in the other!

Bobby D was not a leadoff hitter nor was Bowa. He was just as frustrating on The Phils and even Richie Ashburn felt he could improve. Bobby had a decent year in 1984 with 149 hits .278 avg. But keeping him at the top of the lineup caused more harm than good.

The Cubs still had our beloved ex-Phillies players starting the ballgame. I love seeing Manny Trillo playing 1st base. He looks so natural there. Bobby D would come back here to Philly in 1989 and hit a dramatic inside the park homer. Keith Moreland would hit 27 hrs. ... It was so enjoyable following The Cubs in the 80's as a Phillies fan.
