I always loved Fulton County Stadium when they had the Plexiglas outfield walls.

On Jody Davis' first home run, he slammed a fastball so hard, he had started his swing before the Forster let go of the ball. He was really guessing on it. On his second, you can see he sees the spin on the ball, holds up, waits, and blasts it.

Really interesting. I'm finding these full-game broadcasts because I'm doing a little research on why games take so long these days. And Harry Carey mentioned that even back in 1983, people were complaining the games take too long!

The main reason games take too long today is because of instant replay. Most of the shortest games probably has been when there was no instant replay.

I knew they'd find some footage of a Cubs victory from before the '84 season!

They found this deep inside the Pyramids. Pharaoh owned the Cubs back then.

Ryne Sandberg got the day off this game. He was hitting .203/.253/.259 with 1 HR and 7 RBI at this point of the season. He went 10 for 18 the following four games and the legend was born.

2:30:08 Forster was holding the ball right next to Durham's chest! He should have just tagged him!

I can't see the batter. Terry Forster's in the way. Good pitcher, though.

Some of those Cubs players like Jay Johnstone, Bill Buckner and Bull Durham look pretty jacked for that era. Were those guys ever accused of juicin'? Ha ha ha. Kidding!
