Where did you pick up the the connector plugs mate? There's a bit of bodgery on the loom on my bandit from a previous owner. I could definitely do with these!

Hi would you advise soldering the connectors after they have been crimped to make a better connection? have seen on other channels where they say soldering is the best way to ensure a long lasting contact. Enjoying the series.

Paul Hartwell where I used to work we would also put a small amount of solder on the pins after crimping just as an extra step

Hi Paul, the factory stuff isn't soldered and I've never had a problem with the connection from the wire to the connector and these ones are 30 odd years old but as Joel said you can put some solder on the pins, so I guess it's up to personal preference. Good to hear you are enjoying the series 👍

Hello, been following along from the US... does your light switch turn OFF the lights? Is that standard? In the US the low beam is always on. I'd like to source (get one) if they are easy to come by. As easy as parts are for a 32 yr old bike is... Thank you for your time
@MrGaryjames16 жыл бұрын
uk spec bikes you can turn the lights off if you want us spec bikes dont have that facility
@Classicmotorbikes6 жыл бұрын
Hi RiskIt, as Gary has said about some markets don't have the option of turning off the dip beam, I believe my bike could be a Japanese import. I would check some wiring diagrams for different markets to see if you can use a switch gear with the on-off option with your wiring loom, I'll try and do some research myself. Hope this helps Ian

Classic motorbikes I ask because back in the day I bought a set of FlatSides from Yosh along with a pipe and the carbs came with the handle bar switch for push pull throttle.. to have the lights turn off in the US is really trick and I’ve always looked for that.. thank you again for your videos and time to reply

Sorry, the Yoshimura throttle came with the on/off and I’ve always wanted an other one like it..

Ian did you consider a lithium Ion battery? Keep up the great work
@Classicmotorbikes6 жыл бұрын
Hi Adam, I have considered them but want to do some more research before I bite the bullet and fit one. I believe there could be an issue with older bikes over charging or not charging at a constant rate that affects the lithium batteries I do know of a couple of cases where the battery has (exploded is the wrong word) become unstable and burn out. Ian
