Most fun Corvette I ever enjoyed driving was a 67 C2 with an L79 engine and 4 speed. This looks like an L79 too. Enjoy it as it is, but I think I would also add air, Florida is just too hot. THX for the video, would have loved to see the dry ice cleaning of the chassis on this one.

Original owner would have been mid thirties when he bought this. So cool. Two types of people on this and I know it is only original once but I would restore it.

Love the car. Rust free and original! Preserve it please. No trailer queen. You indicate these are still affordable. Can you share what you paid? Thanks!

Wish you would have had the original owner in the video. The stories he would tell. Nice video though.Thanks!

Informative, somewhat, as you didn't detail your test drive thoughts prior to the end of the video. Additionally, I would have been interested to know what you paid ? and when you purchased ?

how much they paid is THE factor going forward, along with keeping it long term, or reselling it in the near future

Hardly matters. Let me tell you a thing that's not a secret at all and classic car thieves and owners know all about it and have for over 50 years. I am not letting any cats out of any bags and this puts nobody's car at heightened risk of theft. The ignition key is for keeping honest people honest. For less than 100 dollars, you can buy a brand new ignition switch and new keyed ignition lock from one of the popular online Corvette specialists. The '63 to '67 ignition switches are in the dash, not the column. This makes starting the car extremely easy even if you don't know what key it takes. I can reach under the dash in my 1966 Corvette and disconnect the electrical harness from the existing switch, plug in the new switch and lock (don't actually NEED the new lock installed either), let it hang down, then turn the key (or use a screwdriver) to start the car as intended by the factory. THEN at your leisure you can try one of the small number of key combos that GM was using back then and surely in short order, you will find either the right key, or an old one worn enough to work on the original ignition lock. Turn it to the left, insert a paperclip into the release hole, pop out the lock, install your new lock, and bam. Done. For another 10 bucks you get the right spanner to remove the switch bezel from the cluster. If you are REALLY lucky, if you just pick up enough old original GM ignition keys at old car swap meets, you can just find a key that works anyway. My 1970 Buick key started my Buick, my aunt's '69 Firebird, and my uncle's 1970 Monte Carlo.

great car, but nothing important to inspecting a C2 even mentioned?! how to inspect bird cage, how to confirm numbers matching? waste of time.

Blah blah blah, does the clock work, do the lights still rotate, and do the gills behind the driver still work? Guys on a fishing trip for something to say about the Vette. And it's not a C2....It's a Mid-Year Corvette!
@mattanton607010 ай бұрын
Mid year C2 same thing no big deal why even mention it unless you don't know what a C2 is All corvette owners know if you mention C2
@charlesmoore13589 ай бұрын
@mattanton6070 if you grew up with the car you knew that it was a Mid-Year or Sting Ray. The next was shark or Stingray! This C junk didn't come out till the C4 and the rest 😑

Straight Axle, Midyear, Shark and Late Model. That is what we called them until 1997. When the new generation came out, we had to come up with a new naming designation. I still call mine a Midyear.
