Thanks for the excellent instructional video. This is the 3rd install I've done of this Dynatek electronic ignition on various Honda SOHCs but this time I wired it to the back brake wire as you suggested rather than use the dodgy clip that comes with the Dynatek. It was much simpler and cleaner using your method.

the dyna ignition comes straight from the factory at 180*. For certain Suzuki gs models the mechanical point mechanism only has timing marks on one side, so once you only adjust timing for the 1-4 and the 2-3 is done as well. Super awesome upgrade and well paired with the dyna coils

you say well paired with the dyna coils... you need to change the coils if your gonna upgrade to the dyna ignition or can you keep the factory coils. Thinking about the Suzuki GS450L.

My bike, when it is eventually finished will be a cafe racer, with lots of different parts from different bikes on it. QUESTION: Did you cut off that plastic connector that turns the two red wires into one red wire? Curious how you rigged those up since there's two wires (assuming you're not using the extension). Did you crimp both red wires into one male bullet connector or did they each get their own? I have my Dyna hooked up and working great, but I used the crappy blue splicer it came with (spliced into the black and white wire near the coils) and I'm thinking about rewiring it with proper connectors now that I've gotten better at doing wiring. I have a couple different ideas that would work. Your way seems simple, I'm just a little confused about not using the extension that turns the red wires into one wire. I wish we could've seen the way you had those wires set up before you plugged them in. I have a four way connector that I think could work if I give each red wire it's own bullet terminal.

@dimi4 жыл бұрын
@@ritchiesteuns2291 yes the cv carbs are a nightmare to tune it perfectly. I will give you a short rundown of my mods. After 1 year of adjustment it finally running perfect. Setup: optimized pod filter with short velocity stack insinde, lite porting on the head and a 4 in 4 open exhaust. You need to shorten the carb springs around 3 turnings, then you need to raise the needle with shims around 3-4mm, to fit the new position of the needle you need to slitly drill holes in the bold which holds the needle in place. The hole must be a bit bigger then the needle head and the shims. The needle on this carbs needs to move free but not in the height. You can use jb weld to fill the drilled bolds and after that to make it fit perfect. I'm running a 150 main jet. Take care of the cheap pod filter because they close the important holes in the front of this cv carbs which a necessary to move the slider. You can search here on yt how to drill the bolds because a lot of harley bikes using this trick on their cv carbs.
