Im saving to buy a 69 camaro. And a generic 69 camaro search brought me here to your channel. After watching this videos and a few others you've inspired me to dive into a further understanding of the vehicle I'm going to own in the near furture. Know that I'm no mechanic like you, heck... tbh I barley know how to change a tire. With that being said thanks for the inspiration and great content my guy!

Awesome! I plan on making a ton more videos on the car so stay tuned.

Thanks for sharing. Always wanted a manual in my '68 firebird (like you mentioned, more of a muscle car feel) although, just spent over $1000.00 on adding aluminum clutch drums, and other assorted goodies building my TH400, So.... Enjoy that nice (manual) Camaro!

Congrats on your trans install! Good vid -- as usual! -- but, yeah...I like cars but LOVE motorcycles! So I'm hanging...simply 'cause your content is always so good. Thanks!

Good job. 4 speed definitely more fun. I heard you mention subframe connectors and sway bar. Be sure and video that. I just had Hotchkis sub frame connectors and sway bar with frame brace installed in my 69 Camaro. Nice upgrade. FYI

Good job! Would have liked to see some of the actual footage of a few of the key things you did (like when cutting the floor, etc), but still a fan, and still a lot to come (headliner, gauges, speedo fix). Happy 2018!

I'm trying to feel out if people want to see more of the technical details of what I'm doing or just a project overview type video. I will most likely mix in both going forward. Thanks for the feedback. Happy New Year!

I recently heard about a guy building a hydraulic lift utilizing salvaged forklift parts. Digging a pit in the garage would be pretty easy too. Maybe both. These projects would be very useful improvements to your garage and maybe would make for good videos too.

Where in Texas? Viper blue ‘68 here. Doing a solid roller high comp 6.0 LS behind a 4 speed soon. All the parts, just need the time off. Taking off like you did is a good idea and I’ve been thinking of burning some vacation that way. Edit: just read your thumbnail. I’m in Austin too!

You're killing me! I'm building my bosses 69. Started with just a shell. Installed a 67 390 h.p. Corvette 427. He bought a reman. M21 and a reman. 12 bolt position. Everything else is new aftermarket. Bellhousing, crossmember, all the clutch linkage and nothing fit right. I need to know where to make hole for clutch rod threw the firewall and kinda lost puting all that stuff together. Itll be a beautiful car when I'm done but as you said information online is scarce. Pray for me. Pray for my boss that I don't kill him. Oh yeah, I'm on my 3rd. Set of headers. Doug thorley would work with Manuel clutch. Turned to Doug's headers. They would fit so I had to return them and wanted a 15 percent restock fee and pay to receramic coat the headers cause they got a little scratched up (dah, they would fit bonehead) now he bought Doug's block hugger shoty headers, the driver's side still doesn't fit. Now if I bought them new for a 69 big block 4spd. And they don't fit. Why am I paying to restock them. MAKE THEM FIT DOUGS. REALLY PISSED OFF AT DOUGS

It’s probably just the opinion of this dinosaur of a 33 year old, but muscle cars really ought to have a stick shift. My ‘71 Chevelle had a TH400 in it when I got it. Took about eight months to get all the pieces, but my old man and I converted it to a four speed. They make the cars infinitely more fun to drive.
@sharkcitywarrior54856 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you have upgraded your 350 yet but that stock clutch won't last with any performance upgrades or hard driving Kinda should have put a more performance clutch in it

Can someone explain why a lot of old cars were only 2 or 3 speed transmissions??? Doesn’t make sense that you’d be able to drive on a highway on 2 gears pls explain
@strongjohnful3 жыл бұрын
Highway speed limits back in the day were not as high as they are now. So the cars didn’t need overdrive. Even then im sure rpms still ran high. Also is why many non performance trims had really tall gears.

The best thing in the world you could do to your Camaro.Nothing says "fun to drive" like a 4speed trans.,especially in a first gen Camaro. Basically a nut and bolt swap. You might want to consider a rear gear change out,depending on what's in there now. Good luck & enjoy!

Car ramps are better than jack stands. You have better clearance and the stands aren't in your way.

Is a 4 seed Faster then a 5 speed for a 350
@ClassicOctane6 жыл бұрын
The 4 speed is what the car came with originally so it was an easy swap. When I go to an LS I will also go to a 6 speed.
@alfonsogonzalez26286 жыл бұрын
Classic Octane 🤔, well let me share my story with you , so I like chevy pick ups, ( stick shift ) I have a 95 tbi Stick shift , and a 96 Vortec Stick shift , both V8 5.7 from the factory, sadly the motor staring knocking on the Vortec, and last week I bought a 95 c1500 BOSS truck 60 anniversary , my cousin who lived in Mexico bought it for me , I live in California,so he told me that the truck came with a Fast 4 speed transmission, not the original 5 speed ( the boss truck is also Stick shift ) so my question to you is, should I keep that 4 speed or send him my 5 speed from the Vortec
@ClassicOctane6 жыл бұрын
The 5 speed will be better if you plan to do a lot of highway driving. 5th gear is an overdrive so you will be running a lot less RPM at highway speeds.
@alfonsogonzalez26286 жыл бұрын
Classic Octane In my 95 tbi going 100 mph in the freeway the rpm is at 3,000 rpm so with the 4 speed going 100 the rpm would be around 4,000 ? That would be forcing the engine too much right ?
