Build looks really good! What shocks are those? I didn't see a link to them in your notes. Let us know how well they work for you, and keep up the great work!

Use 4 concrete lag nuts flush with the floor that way you can drag the bender out , lag bolt it to the floor , use it then just remove 4 bolts and stow it.

Exactly what I would do, great suggestion!

Well done on your new place & garage man, from a fellow cafe racer builder/youtuber, it's nice to see how your workshop is getting so nice, definitely a dream workshop for me :) bikes are looking good too! keep it up!
@Teaguejc5 жыл бұрын
Use drop in anchors. Lowes and Depot have them. They'll install flush with the floor, allow you to bolt bender to floor when needed and remove the bender when not needed. I did this in my garage at my old apartment for my manual tire changer. Worked great. I put rubber plugs in the anchors when not in use so the threads wouldn't get clogged with dirt and debris.

in my sculpture class we had a pipe bender attached an old car wheel with a tire on it - this kept it stable but also let you walk it out when you needed more room around it

On the last two "cafe" type bikes I built I made little battery boxes for lithium ion batteries that mount to the rear cross member directly under the swing arm pivot. Requires a little extra wiring but they hide pretty well under there, and it keeps the upper "triangle" area looking really clean.

Epoxy nuts in the floor. Use two different bits so the bolt goes far down but the nut doesn’t move. This will allow u to remove bolts and have no studs poking out.

I would love to see a full custom bike build. (I mean change almost everything on the bike in some way whether that be color or design) For example, change a dual shock motorcycle to single shock.
@ClassicOctane5 жыл бұрын
I have been wanting to do that for a long time. Sounds like fun.

How about drilling holes in the floor and drop sleeves into them. Use pins that fit through the base of the bender into the sleeves. Since all your force is sideways, don't think it needs to be bolted down.

I dont understany why you don't just flatten that bracket where the fuse box hangs down. You could either bend it straight, or cut out the downturn and weld it so the whole bracket is flat. That is if it bothers you. I dont think it would be that noticable.

1: Can you just pound the electronics bracket flat so it doesn't have that step in it? 2: What happens if you run a lithium Ion battery on the factory reg/rec?
@ClassicOctane5 жыл бұрын
You can over charge and damage lithium batteries with a stock regulator. They don't like much over 14V
@royalwraps84255 жыл бұрын
Did you find out if the voltage regulator was compatible with lithium ion batteries?
@ClassicOctane5 жыл бұрын
They said it should work fine as long as the battery is designed to work with stock voltage output. I git a Shorai that can handle up to 14.7V so we should be good

Mount the tube bender device outside and cover it with a gas grill cover. No need to have it under foot in the garage for as often as you will use it.
