I love the sound of unaccompanied human voice in song. Easily the most beautiful form of music. Cool to know that the "sacred harp" God gave each human is also the most beautiful instrument we have. And the most versatile. Think of the range of sounds that the voice can make, no instrument is close.

I studied choral composers many years ago in Music History: DiLassus, Palestrina, etc, etc... but I don't remember hearing about Gesualdo until very recently. Thanks.

I am taking Music History 1 right now and I already knew about Gesualdo thanks to a choral director friend sharing his music with me. I was so glad that we actually talked about him in class earlier this week. When we listened to his madrigal 'Moro Lasso al mio duolo' I was like ok guys, you're in for a treat!
