Exploring a classic car junkyard. We have got ourselves a treat on this one. I usually make videos on individual classics I run across in the self serve wrecking yards but not today my friends. Today we get to go exploring on some private land that has quite the collection of old rides. Some are just parts cars but others looked to be in good enough shape to be saved. There were old rides everywhere, some out in the open and others hidden in the trees ans bushes. The first day it was super hot and the next day it rained while both days the mosquitoes were out in full force. Even the ticks were an issue but I muscled through it and it was well worth it in my book. I bought some parts and made a deal on a #1961parkwoodwagon. This place was pretty dang cool if you ask me. #classiccarjunkyard #classiccaryard

Just because it's a 442 doesn't mean it's a 4 speeds. The 442 origin is 400cid, 4 barrels, dual exhaust.

Thanks for taping this yard. I am a GM Man. It has been a long time since I have seen cars of this vintage. I was born in the early 60's and grew up seeing all of these models on the road. Even older. If I were there I would be having panic attacks trying to decide what to buy. Regards from Ody Slim

My cousin had a 1982 caprice diesel, no kidding, he drove it for years between Virginia and new York iron working, wherever that car is, it's probably running, once or twice a year in the winter we would pull up and fill up the tank with kerosene and pull off freaking people out

In 1991 I remember searching for yards for my 69 Mach 1 , just a lot of walking until I found this old yard in Houston that resembled your days search here , found during that trip some Mach 1 high back seats in nearly perfect shape , it was sitting since the early eightys .

Yes, the Studebaker Champ was the result of a very low budget update to their pickups. They hadn't been redesigned since 1949. The cab is a Lark sedan cut in half and the beds were leftover Dodge parts they bought, or maybe they bought the tooling for them, I forget. Even the name badge is cheap - they took leftover "Champion" badges and literally broke off the I-o-N to put on these. There was one yard up here that had a few but it's been cleaned out since then.

Wow, I cant believe that an actual 442 with a 4 speed got junked. For some reason it seems like 90% of the "442s" you see are automatic for some reason and the ones with the factory manual trans seem to go for double what one with an auto will sell for.

My uncle owned a towing business and junkyard, my brother and I would stay with them in the summer and ride the tow trucks. We’d spend all day digging through those old cars and trucks, and being in the mid to late 70’s there were some cool vehicles in there. We sold him our 67’ Mustang 289 4 speed coupe, that bummed me out but what do you do at 11 ? The guy that bought it wrapped it around a pole soon after, 🙄
