I was a bit of a hater when the "super killscreen" was added at level 39, because I thought it wasn't in the spirit of "classic Tetris." But seeing how many games (even in regionals like this) go past the original killscreen and commentators don't even get excited for it makes me appreciate the hype the level 39 super killscreen brings to tournaments. It would just be a grind without it. Reaching the killscreen was the pinnacle in the day. Now level 29 is just the second transition. I love the new levels Tetris has reached lately (pun intended), but we have reached the point of needing multiple categories because this very simple game has been completely figured out and absolutely broken by human endeavor.
