for real, im not super into tetris but i used to play other esports semi-professionally, and ive got to say, that kid is cool as ice. just being in a big competition is enough to crack most people and he went from largely competing at home with a small online audience to competing in front of a live crowd with documentarians and news teams recording him, pretty much without skipping a beat. that is a talent in itself. and to know this is all so soon after his dad's passing, im genuinely in awe of his resilience.

Every time I am reminded of just how widespread and well known Scuti's achievement is, I can't help but think two things, simultaneously: 1) He absolutely deserves all the recognition he's gained but also 2) It's tragic that Fractal missed this achievement by millimeters, and for that simple bit of bad luck, will never get the same recognition outside of the community that Scuti has I wish Scuti all the best in navigating his newfound fame, and hope he continues to excel at Tetris. I look forward to what he manages to achieve next.
@richardli40383 ай бұрын
it’s also not definite that fractal’s story would have had the same reach, as a 13 year old who just lost his father. not to devalue either players accomplishments, but mass media is obviously a business and has certain incentives
@kronosomni28053 ай бұрын
Scuti has someone batting for him in the next life, is what I believed finally pushed it over the top, it isn't a coincidence in my mind that his game crash was achieved with a J Piece, and at the last possible chance, no less.

I'm sorta wondering what's going to happen if Fractal (or whoever) hits the wrap around, if it'll generate as much hype as Scuti did for crashing
@RobMedellin3 ай бұрын
No, it's not tragic that it wasn't Fractal. Ask Fractal himself, he would have liked it, but doesn't even begins to resent that it wasn't him. And fractal may have not accomplished it that soon were it not for the motivation of seeing it happen. Is a well known fenomenon, once someone beats a barrier, others will soon do it shortly after. Having said that, Fractal is my favorite player, he's so awesome! But I'm glad it was scuti who got it first.

Hot Take: Despite just being 13 years old, Blue Scuti is already a Goat, one of the best Tetris players of all-time! Longevity is unnecessary. He caused the very first gamecrash!

This video is the ULTIMATE reminder of why I keep a low profile out in the world, and why I've never shown my face or revealed my full name here on KZbin. As a humble human being, that kind of fame and recognition is just something I could never handle. Heck i couldn't handle even a fraction of it Also, the kind of recognition that Scuti is getting is something the scene AS A WHOLE deserves. Not just him. I don't have anything against Scuti. He's a great player and a great human being, but can't we say that about pretty much all the top players in the scene? And being the first to do something like getting the game crash DOESN'T MEAN you're the best. It's just as incredible of an achievement no matter how many people have gotten it before you Also personally I think rebirth is gonna be a bigger achievement than the crash. To get to the crash you just need to clear that single at the transition into 155 or hit some other crash trigger. With rebirth on the other hand you gotta not only last BEYOND that, but go through more levels of dusk and charcoal and clear the 810-line level. Not to mention the dark green is hard to see too from what I've heard
