Such a wonderful find there for Mr. Larry Kerns! Those are just fantastic looking and running tractors. I sure would be using that cutter on the front, don't know about the 9 speed transmission. Great story, thanks for sharing and I hope every dad has a great Fathers Day!

My wife of over 35 years has always had the fever. We're both old farm kids and have restored quite a few pickups and a few ag tractors over the years. We've recently gotten into garden tractors though because you can't buy a decent one new anymore! I've actually had several people call me crazy for saying that garden tractors used to have actual P.T.O.s!

Now you need a subcompact. Im new to tractors besides when I was a kid. And got the wife to sign off on a 1026r that maybe one day will be a classic. And she loves her GX325 but might go try to find a 318 for her at some point as well.

⁠@@MerpSquirreltechnically, you don’t NEED a SCUT to get a rear PTO seeing as Deere still offers them as an option on the X7 series (along with a cat 1 three point) In the long run, however, the compact will always be the better investment since the PTO and three point come factory

back in the mid 1990s We had a neighbor that mowed their 3 acers of yard with a super nice mid 60s vintage cub cadet tractor with a belly mower im guessing 20hp it was larger than these garden units, it was a really good looking machine and ran so smooth. good memories of cool old machines built when quality mattered.

I really like the cub cadet mowers & equipment. I seen all kinds at lawn mower shows. I was raised with sears mowers. I helped dad mow with a 6hp hand crank mower . I have a SS-15 with a kwikway loader. Among others. None look as good as yours!🚜👍

I’ve got a 12hp Kubota and it will run out of traction well before it comes close to running out of power. Hp is useful for running powered implements.

I've been using outdoor equipment, (large farm tractors down to small lawn tractors) a long time and I can tell you that while these older machines were ok in their day and are nice to have around for nostalgic reasons (I have a few) when it comes to getting the work done today's higher horsepower machines run circles around all those old collectibles. I can go out and play with an old machine all day or just get on my newer one and finish up in a couple hours.

My dad bought a model 100 in the mid 70’s and I mowed over 2 acres 2-3 times a month, 42” at s time. The early Cub Cadet’s were a fantastic tractor

A 1961 original was the first vehicle I ever drove. It was bought new in Newport News, VA my hometown. I still have the sales brochure with the dealer’s stamp, probably the only evidence left that the IH dealer ever existed in this town. Nowadays, you have to drive for an hour just to see a tractor.

M and W products were originally made in Anchor, IL later moved to Gibson City, iL where it still is but now it is Rhino. I live in Gibson City

so cool... i had same thing with a ham radio. tho i was on other end. i sold it and 20 plus years later bought the same model radio at a ham fest. didnt know it till got it home it was my orig one i sold 20 plus years ago untouched. so that is really cool .. i only have 5 running cubbies. all 12 n 14hp. 127s 147s 149s. my babys .. lol each one has its own job. mow only tille only plow only snowblow only .. 5th not sure of its job yet. i have a gravely bush hog. maybe ill rig that up to it .

Ok i was looking at starter relay testing on my 2000s cub cadet What i dig about that tractor is it does look like a farm tractor and has both a frt and rear take off I could see it with a grader blade underneath or on the back Or a serious tilling attachment I also like the twin wheel on the back. And a geared transmission is a lot better then a hydrostatic system. Id be clearing brush with it its ment to do it. What gets me is i belive my 1045 is 18 hp. An old Ford 8 or 9n was only 45 hp and you could do almost everything with them. I really like the gearbox on it.

I had a 126 I--H CUB I GOT IT FOR $50 .00 From junkyard it had a snow blower and a morer deck . It cost me $75.00 to get it running again had it for ten years then I sold it for $950.00👍👍

MY brothers and I HAVE got a ten tractor collection three one hundred series'the SIXTY FIVE model one twenty two and three one twenty fours and a seventy model one hundred series my dad bought it brand new down town San Antonio Texas on Alamo street and we have had it since 1965 and my grandma bought a brand new one twenty four brand new in nineteen sixtynine and about three fourteen horsepower one forty-niners and I have to say none is for sale many attachments for the collection and they are all in running and farming condition and they are all frequently in use in the field and in the garden and the yard very well made machines and we just love them all
