This movie was made im my hometown of McMinville Oregon. I was 22 years old at the time.. I graduated from McMinnvile High School in 1978 "Home of the Grizzles" ! At aprox. 34:41 I can be seen standing on the ramp that leads up to the stadium. I'm the young girl with blonde hair, wearing light tan pants and a brown leather jacket. I'm standing next to a little boy with his arm draped over the railing. My big "movie moment" ! Sure takes me back ! I'll be 60 years young this year.

The team are so kind with her, I liked so much how they treat her like a little sister outside the game and in practices, and inside the field they treat her with such respect. I liked a lot too they went to buy her a dress and also the lady on the shop that sold them the dress cheaper without them notice it ♥♥♥
@joec96934 жыл бұрын
I always appreciated that they never did the "Jerk Jock" stereotype and that the team only cares about the fact that she can actually play really well. They were never mean just awkward at first not knowing how to act around her (tackling her but apologizing for it) but once they saw she could actually play that was all they needed to know. And once the most popular boys in the school accepted her pretty much everyone else accepted her, it was instead the parents the "adults" that acted like stereotypical high school kids mean comments, gossiping behind peoples back very cliquey.

Great movie. I have never seen this before. I used to play basket ball with a young woman and she was 6'1" and her brother was 6'6" when we had a pickup game at the local park I always had her on my team. She knew the game well and she schooled her older brother and his friend who was also 6'6". Even though both her brother and his friend could dunk the ball, She knew how to run the pick and roll and she played it to perfection. She knew defense and would box out bigger and taller players and she played in the team concept better than most other players had a tendency to ball hog where as she often would look to pass the ball first to the player who had the open shot or she would take the shot when she was that player.

Then you see her realize what they came for and how much those guys loved Tami and how much they wanted her to feel as loved as she really was and to feel like a lady. I guarantee (at least in the movie) she ate the cost of that dress to do something nice for the guys and for Tami. I loved the looks on their faces when she told them $125.
