Raina Kabaivanska has been the most renowned Butterfly of her age (together with Renata Scotto). She also was a great artist with incomparable musicianship as well as musical and dramatic intelligence. In 1994 her voice was not in its prime anymore but she was still delivering an intense and magnetic interpretation of her 'signature rôle'.
In order to optimize your experience and as a mark of respect for the art of the singers I produced subtitles in Italien only or Italian/English for your convenience : you can activate/disactivate this option with the icon on the bottom-line and chose which translation you prefer to see (or none) with the parameter icon. You can also reduce or increase the size of the characters in the subtitles by using this same icon parameter on the bottom-line of the video.
I always thought that having the possibility to see BOTH the original text and a translation in our native language was the best way to fully appreciate an opera performance ... it requires a lot of time for the initial "time stamping" of the original language, but with the help of IA, I found a way to construct and include the translations in a much more feasible and less time consuming way ... if you find some improvements that could be done in the translation into your native language, please feel free to comment ... . If you would like another language, please let me know too and I will do my best to add it ...
