Students share their experiences of being part of the Classroom Access Project and explain the effects that access in the classroom has on their learning outcomes and sense of inclusion.
An initiative of Media Access Australia, the Classroom Access Project (CAP) seeks to set a benchmark in meeting the needs of students who are deaf or hearing impaired in mainstream settings, while engaging and benefiting all students.
CAP uses simple, affordable, readily available technologies, combining captions, an Interactive White Board (IWB) solution, a Soundfield amplification system, and a laptop; supported by Media Access Australia's Accessible Education Database, for delivery of captioned educational resources.
