Most of the biblical language has been simplified nowadays to a more natural language, still this form of speech is used in art, classes, writings and literature. The street has its' own language.

Biblical hebrew is a natural language, it was just not as influenced by indo european languages(especially german) as it is now Maltese is arabic influenced by italian and it sounds eerily similar to hebrew

Thank you for these classroom videos! I plan to start teaching some homeschool kids in our church Hebrew in the coming weeks, so these are very helpful. I am sure I will learn as much as they do in the process of teaching. I appreciate all of your time and enthusiasm in teaching.

I'm with Rebekah...the "ah" ending feels like it should be feminine! So tricky! I love being invited to your in person classes.

Great videos. Just curious about Beth’s accent. Sounds Arabic with some words. First time I’ve ever heard that accent when speaking Hebrew. I think it’s cool and was curious to learn more about this if anyone had any insight into this. Thanks.

It may be that the way she pronounces ayin is a little stronger/deeper than you often hear with Sephardic pronunciation

I am thinking of starting a Zoom meeting room that meets every night and goes over lessons from this terrific source. What I mean is that ever member would get a chance to use the Hebrew from that day. I'm not certain how the logistics would work out and maybe it would be more appropriate to have regional or local groups. Any ideas? Or, does something like this already exist? Thank you!

Excellent video as usual. I thank God for having the opportunity to improve my blibical Hebrew with this channel. It's a blessing. I just have a question: Is there a reason you never used the word "mouth" פֶּה with the 2nd person feminine possessive suffix. Doesn't it occur in the Old Testament?
@AlephwithBeth
@AlephwithBeth 10 ай бұрын
No, oddly, it doesn't occur in the Hebrew Bible, so I avoided it just to be safe 😅

This isn't modern hebrew, well actually it kinda is but with an old mizrahi pronunciation. If you wanna hear what biblical hebrew sounded like listen to recordings of phoenician, which is almost identical to biblical hebrew. (a bit like british and american english)
