Jerry Springer 😂 funny. Taught high school for ten years, and came back to middle school this year... because I'm crazy. I write my rules on the board too. I go over the layout of the test with them as soon as it's handed out. Then they have 2 (I might bend my rule depends on the kid) opportunities to raise thier hand. I want them to try first, believe in themselves, skip and come back before asking me. I love that you mentioned our teacher errors when making tests, so important and I've done it too ( there's 2 answers that are correct). I have them put thier phone in the backpack and zip it while they walk through the door. Some years I have backpacks in a different area of the room. I want them to feel a touch of testing pressure and environment. I tell them that nurses, teachers, realtors, hairstylists, lawyers etc all have tests. As an English teacher I only do a multiple choice&short answer test 1-2 times a year. We write essays/letters etc and do projects mostly.

What a great video topic that I didn’t know I needed to hear! You always do a tremendous job of choosing video topics that are super applicable. One of my favorite after test strategies is having sudoku or a pop culture crossword puzzle for kids to work on. As you said, finishing early should not be rewarded with more work, give the students a much deserved break. Thanks for all that you do!

I want to sign up for the classroom management series, but with all the options, I'm a little confused... is the 1st option the one that gives me access to all 4? It says classroom management series, so i assumed it meant all 4, but I wanted to check before i purchase so i know I'm getting what i want. Thanks!!

Our apologies, it is confusing. The first option says “classroom Management workshop series” which is the first session of the series, cm101 Building relationships General admission. If you want all four, it’s The Ultimate Guide which has two options, general admission or VIP.

Hi Marquita, That’s when I give out the other things I talked about such as coloring pages, Legos, Play-Doh, graphic novels … something that’s a reward for a job well done that gives their brain a bit of a break before the next class.
