Your videos have been so helpful! Last year was my first year teaching 4th grade, I took a leap of faith and decided to try teaching after deliberating for many years. I had no experience or education in teaching at all and was so nervous, but watching your videos helped me so much in kicking off my classroom. I learned so much from you! Miss May, I love this idea! My question is how do you manage allllllll the work that gets turned in over the course of a week? And how do you address it when a student is turning in work with little to no effort? Thank you for all you do!

Good question! This is how I do things and how it works for me. I grade sometimes half my class work one day and then half another day. While I'm looking over there work, I just take work out of each folder at a time and focus on one kid at a time. When I finish grading all their work it automatically place it in their mailbox. Then I move on to the next folder. While I'm grading work and I notice some sloppiness I address it immediately with that child one on one. Honestly, to get my kids to really do amazing work, I really get dramatic and share with the whole class the awesome coloring and writing that I see. It works like a charm. ((HUGS))

I print most of my items on my color printer. If I want something poster size I have it printed at my school. Before my school received a poster printer I would go to Office Depot. ((Hugs))

Thank you! No, I don't. I just let them choose wear they want to work. I don't do flexible seating and all that extra. I just let my kids work where they would like on the floor, standing at their seat, etc. I just model and express the expectations of having that freedom. ((Hugs))
