You are so right! I did that for 3 weeks back when my Mom had a stroke. I literally lived in the hospital with her the entire stay. I'm thankful that I had an amazing team who kept my students learning in my absence. I had no worries. Yes, work was still there when I returned. Family first! I'm so glad your mother is well. ❤

The ideas for morning tubs are great! How many kids are in your class? What if every student wants a different tub?! I have 16-17 students Also, are the manipulatives ones that the children play with during centers? Thank you.

Thank you! I have 21 students, we don't have center time in first where I am. However, if I did would make morning tubs extra special. We would only use them during morning tub time. ((HUGS))

I love how independent you set up your classroom. You’re teaching the kids great life skills. I’d love to see a video on how you handle kids who don’t follow instructions. Say they don’t finish their work and they move on to the “I’m finished now what” board. Or they don’t check their folder first. What is your procedure for handling that?

Thank you! Well it takes time for some students. I can just tell with certain kiddos if they're checking their green folder. I often reteach this part until they have it down. ((HUGS))

I'm so glad you were able to be there for your mom! And that you had the wisdom to know that everything will be there when you come back. I've taken 3 days off (unheard of!) due to strep throat and #1 I'm grateful to have recovery time and #2 I know we will all get back on track and back to normal right away. Everything will be fine and we must care for ourselves and our most important priorities no matter what.
