I have about a year in a half until I receive my B. S. In early childhood edu. But first I have to pass the GK test for FL. I will take some sub jobs until I finish my degree. Thanks for posting tips and your experience as a teacher. My main concern are lesson plans and room setup. You are very motivating and I am excited to become a teacher. Here's an idea to go with the cards.... Run a wide line of a colored permanent marker, down the side of the deck. Make each deck a different color. That way, after recess....the cards can be put back together quickly!! Love your room....you ROCK!!

So I recently decided I am going to become a teacher, something I have been avoiding because I was worried about the pay and if it was worth the salary. But I learned that I could be doing something that excites me every day AND get paid for it. Your videos have been nothing but inspirational and fuel to my excitement to start my new career. Backpacks are great to keep field trip stuff in and by your door in your classroom. Like copies of kids emergency cards and a medical kit.

I loved the what you did for the library. I transitioned my classroom today and knew I needed to the baskets. I added washi tape on the spines of the books that coordinated with the labels. So that the children can put away the books in the correct baskets, since they are younger. 😊

congratulations! i am a teacher too and was pregnant last year. i was so out of breath, thought it was just pregnancy, but turned out to be anemia. i got treatment and was no longer out of breath. i know every pregnancy is different, but just wanted to share. love your videos!

I think a good idea for the self assessment board is to staple a little envelope or hook a buckets to the board. Then ask the students to write their name, period and fold it up. That way it’s confidential and already organized by class for you.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, Shelly! I have a similar 5th grade Science Curriculum with large containers. I store them on top of my cabinets and just take 1 unit down at a time. It looks like you have room where you currently have your wobble stools above your Science Word Wall. If you did the same you wouldn't have to buy more containers and could just store supplies you need for multiple units in the cabinets that are empty. Just an idea

Ooo, I was piloting Amplify Science this past year in 3rd grade! We still haven't adopted a new curriculum yet. I really liked the tech component, since I have Chrome books for each student. My students loved Science... Enjoy!

You can put the larger Science unit cards in one of the clear boxes the kits came in if they will fit. Are you going to use the top of the cabinets for storage? Maybe that is what you meant by "up there". 😊 I would definitely put those unit boxes there if nothing else. You might try putting a strip of tape behind the clear wall pockets and using hot glue on top of the tape to hold them on the wall. Cinder blocks are difficult to deal with. You now have enough sharpies for at least three years. Lol. This is quite a jump from 3rd grade to 6th grade.
